Ive had my baby bearded (Rico) 2 weeks now, and and the first week he was eating reasonably well twice a day and this past week hes ate next to nothing. I feed him crickets (dusted with calcium) and hasnt been touching them, i tried him with some small mealworms and he ate maybe 4 about 2 days ago and today ive tried to feed him like 2-3 times and he only ate 1 cricket. Im not sure if its just re-location stress still... but he was eating the day i got him lol, so. Then i thought he might be suffering from impaction because hes on calci sand (i said to the woman in the store that sold me the sand (just the sand) about impaction, and she said it was just the old T-rex stuff that was known for that) but then...he has been doing the toilet every day so stuff must be passing through him. Then i though it may have been due to indigestion, but im sure my temps are correct. Im not sure if its due to this but about 4-5 days a go one of the crappy glass shutters on my cage nearly fell on him (think they're too short in height either that just chipped away so end up falling if moved incorrectly) but luckily he avoided it, and also he was under my bed one ightt about the same time ago and i think one of the wheels underneath the bed MIGHT have hurt him, not tooo sure on this one. but any help would be appreciated, heres my setup;
4ft x2x2 tank
100w Exoterra sun glow bulb (neodynium)
10.0 ReptiGlo UVB tube (wanting to change this as soon as i can to Reptisun 10.0) which fits along the top of the tank
Lights are on for 12 off for 12.
Calci sand as substrate
Measure temps with digital thermo with 2 probes
Fresh water available each day.
Dust the crickets each feed with dragon dust from T-rex
Basking spot = 105F at the hottest point maybe108F
Cool end = 84F
I have closed off about 1ft of the tank today just to see if him being in a slightly smaller environment would help him any.
Thanks in advance!
Gary
