Hello,
I have a baby Beardie,he is about 6" long.Have had him for about 3 weeks now.He eats both crickets and little greens. Had him at the vet two days after getting him. He is being treated for worms and another infection which the vet said it was not a serious infection but being im treating for worms might as well treat for the infection. anyway he seems to hide all day only comes out a couple of times,he is alert and will flare his baby beard (LOL).Able to cling to branches I have in enclosure. The enclosure is as follows. 40 breeder, slate tile as subtrate, basking spot not any hotter than 112,ambiant temp is 82-85,humidity 35-40% UVB mounted inside tank, which is a repti-sun 10.0.Here are a couple of possible problems why he does this. My one cat jumps on top of enclosure to watch crickets, especially at night,he does come out all night.Or maybe the coolside I have another light over that area to provised xtra heat, could it be just a little to warm so he is hiding. He does eat and poop well,I removed the water dish to keep humidity down,I do give him a warm bath 2-3 times a week for about 10-15 mins a time. So i guess could there be a medical issue or maybe he is just scared being so small yet.

Thanks
Peter

Medications can affect their behaviour including loss of appetite and lethargy, are you giving a pro biotic to replace the GOOD bacteria in his tummy?

Able to cling to branches I have in enclosure.
Although some babies like it real hot, 112 is probably a bit too hot, try lowering the basking temps to about 106.

My one cat jumps on top of enclosure to watch crickets, especially at night,he does come out all night.
All feeders should be removed at night as most especially crivkets have a tendency to bite/nibble on the beardie while the beardie is sleeping. This could also be why he is hiding a lot being afraid of not only the big fluff ball on top of the enclosure but the pesky little cricks nibbling at him

My one cat jumps on top of enclosure to watch crickets, especially at night, he does come out all night.
Clarify please, who comes out at night the cat or the beardie or both?
Beardies need 100% darkness to sleep and no heat at night uhnless the temps drop below 65/60 in which case a Ceramic Heat Emitter is recommended that provides heat from above with NO visible light

Or maybe the coolside I have another light over that area to provised xtra heat, could it be just a little to warm so he is hiding. Thanks for the info, And no on pro biotic, will pick some up today. Have been giving him calcium supp. even though the crickest are pre-gut loaded. From where I get them. And no lights on at night, pretty dark.Temps average around mid-high 70's.Humidity averiging 35-40%,(has been humid where I live) As far as the fur ball ,he jumps on cage at night I think to see crickets but will be removing them at night. And my beardies comes out when light go out.But yesterday I had turned off one light on cool side and he did seem to hang out more, cool side is high 70's to low 80,s will monitor before i spend on a heat emitter.
Any additional suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks again
Peter

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
