BABIES!

Well, not babies yet, more like baby! My first hatchling came out tonight! He is sooo TINY! and Cute!!! So now is when all the possible information you can flood into my little brain would come in handy! I discovered him about an hour or so ago... 8pm my time. He is curled up in the corner of his container. I haven't seen him active yet, but I am not worried because he is responsive to my voice and touch, and breathing fine. When do I move him? Are one week old crickets small enough? Veggies constantly... Water is a given. Heat temps for hatchlings the same as adults? UV duh... UUUmmm I think that sums it up for now. Anything you can think of please throw it out there. I am a first timer... most of you know I wasn't expecting this. I wasn't expecting them to hatch until Mid March, so this is cool! I have 10 more eggs waiting to hatch. I lost about half of the clutch, but I am surprised that one made it. Considering this is my first time. I am soo excited!!!

Hi congrats on your 1st baby! How exciting how big is tiny? You said you expected them mid March. How many days out did this little one hatch? Is this the first and only clutch? We have three clutches incubating our 1st clutch is on day 50. Can't wait. As far as all the peticulars that you are asking about have you read the Popcorn and Tatty thread that has really helped me. Do you plan to post pics?

I will be posting photos. I have taken a few, but my batteries ran out. ha ha ha. The clutch was laid on January 9th so this would be day 49. I guess they really weren't that early, rather right on time... I was just looking at worst case scenario... It's awesome. The other eggs are slightly collapsing and I can see some of them poking at the shell. I am soo EXCITED! This is the only clutch I kept. I gave away my female to a better home because the male I have just kept at her. So it was best to separate them. Now I have more to take care of, but my finances are in a more stable condition now. But I will be definitely finding homes for these critters in 6-8 weeks.

How exciting. I look forward to the pics. Wow so day 49 I guess maybe we are not weeks away as tomorrow makes day 51. What temp did you incubate at and how about your humidity? How small is the baby that is out? Also thanks for the info. Enjoy these new lives

I incubated them at about 82-84F. The humidity isn't exact, but I check that the soil was moist and kept a damp towel in the container at all times. Pics are uploading now...

Oh man so small and so cute. Love the one with mama and baby Thank for the info on the temps and humidity. Did any of the other eggs hatch yet? So glad you posted pics

I thought 49 days would be early? i have read it can take up to 60 days or more to hatch.

None of the others have hatched yet. But they are deflating a little and I can see them pushing on the shell when I turn on the light or if they here sound. It's ver cool.

Ahhhh....that is really cool. Nothing here yet we are on day 52. Can't wait to see them hatch. Is that little one eating or not yet.....probably will be happy when some of his/her siblings arrive

#1 hasn't started eating yet, but #1 loves lots of water... maybe it's a chinese water dragon hybrid... LOL 3 more are on the way. They are slowly breaking through. I have crickets ready when they are, but for now #1 is a little scared of 'em.

Wow....thanks for the info it really is very helpful since we are right behind you. Drinking, that is great that he/she is taking water so easily...no worries about dehydration. 3 more on the way! Are your eggs sweating and dimpling like I have read that they do? Also are they more of a gray now that they are so close to hatching or did they stay pretty white. Again thanks for your help

Three more! #2, #3 and #4! The eggs did deflate quite a bit, but I didn't see any sweating, and I still don't. But it's pretty humid in there. #1 is definitely the runt of the bunch! It's adorable. #2 is very rambunctious (sp?), #3 is the opposite. He is breathing but that is about it. I am going to let him be though. If he wants to, he will come around. #4 just popped out so he is still in with the eggs, cuddled in the corner.

Hi loving your pics but be careful adult dragons dont see them as cute babies like we do they see them as food and they can be very quick.Babies also like being hotter than the adult ones but they are quite stupid sometimes and dont move when they are too hot so keep a eye on them and spray them regular.

Up to four babies now......ahhh... I just can't wait for these to hatch. I don't see any signs of anything except the color is changing a bit. They are not that white possibly looking a little gray in some spots but all full and healthy. Did your eggs change in color towards the end. Funny how you are seeing personalities so quickly lol

Oh what a tiny baby! Too cute! I hate to look at them because it makes me want another one.
