Hello all,
I have had my Beardie Alice for 2 months she is now about 8 months old, she is amazing, but was also fasinated with her reflection and loved our company. When we bought her she was in a viv with several other beardies, so we made the decision to get her some company. We bought our lil Esme who is also amazing in an entirely different way, very active and loves being held. Esme is 6 months old so is slightly smaller, but both have been getting on very well (better than we thought) both are eating, although we have to seperate them for the locousts, as Alice is a little bit faster, they also sleep together. This morning i noticed that Esme was not quite her usual self and was not wanting to get our of bed, i left her in there and put in their greens. About 20mins later Esme came out of bed and waltzed over to the basking log, where Alice was sunning herself, and started waving. I am concerned that they have had a fall out as there is a small wound on Alice chin (which i have an appoinment at the vets for) but no wonuds on Esme, does the waving indicate that she is submiting to Alice??

It's generally considered a bad idea to house beardies together, as they are solitary by nature. No matter how hard you try to make sure they are fed and cared for equally, they will probably compete with each other and one will always come out on top. If you're keeping beardies together that aren't the same size, one will always be smaller, therefore less capable of fighting for what she needs if it comes to that. Also, how sure are you that both are female? If you continue to house them together until adulthood and it turns out that they aren't the same sex, you'll end up with eggs..... Pet stores keep babies together because it's cheaper/easier that way, not because beardies need company.

We have seperated the girls now, and they seem much happier, we spoke to the vet who said that even though 9/10 times most beardies in a big enough tank will be ok, some just DONT get on. Before we seperated them, my other half noticed Alice the older one, attacking Esme over the greens. It was then we put a rush on the new tank, as we did not want either of them getting massivley stressed, or Esme not eating. Since seperating them both house wise they both seem much happier and back to thier usual mad habbits. We still get them out together to see each other, but neither seem overley bothered by that! One thing i can say is we now know who the messy one is :p Little Esme dives in her water and makes a loverly mess and throws her foood out of the bowl before eating it! MAD!! But i am much more at ease now knowing the both happy and safe, and lil Esme has come into her own as she clearly never had much of a chance before, she so cute, even falling asleep on us, she is a snuggler!! haha!! Thanks for your advice, i was'nt ignoring you i was busy getting the new tank sorted!!!! I will be puttings pic on of our lil babies soon!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
