Archie's eye issues...

Archie's eye has looked different from the time I got him a couple of years ago, there is a ring of gold around the pupil that doesn't seem to expand or contract like it should. He is an older dragon at this point that did not recieve proper care for most of his life. I think he must be about 8 or 9. He has minor mbd that has not progressed at all. He does have trouble eating and is the worst eater I have ever dealt with. All he wants is his bugs. Now it seems that he cannot see out of his eye at all. He misses his food and strikes very hard at everything he tries to eat, inclluding my fingers. Lately he has been keeping the eye closed more often than not and it appears sunken. There is no crust or visiable signs of anything being wrong. Is this a vitamin deficiancy or could he have poked himself in the eye? Any thoughts on this one folks? I didn't think he needs a vet visit yet but I'm not sure. Thanks!

I'm sorry to hear about Archie's eye. I am clueless as to what could be wrong in the absence of any crusting, and such. I suppose old age could play a part... Hopefully someone more experienced on the problem will come along soon.
