Anyone with an acurite thermometer...

I am having a problem with my acurite digital thermometer. The probe (out) reading all of a sudden is saying LO. I've seen the humidity do this, but never the temp. I thought it may be the battery was low, but replaced the battery (twice) and still nothing. It's less than 6 months old so it's pretty new.

I'm just seeing if anyone has had this problem before and if it resolved itself or if I should get a new one. Unless the pack of batteries I tried was dead too, I can't think of anything else.

I've had that happen with my kitchen probe thermometer... it was always a low battery... maybe the batteries you tried were old or duds.

Grrr! They were new batteries that I bought about a week ago, but I guess there's a possibility they could have been on the shelf too long (I could only hope). I love this thermometer and I tried to buy the same one for my other dragons tank and tried 3 walmarts and none of them carry it anymore! I really hope it's the batteries!!! I just think its weird that I tried 5 different batteries, 2 being the new ones and the other 3 out of remotes and such and not one made it go away.

I jinxed myself for saying I wanted to get a temp gun! Lol
The reason I didn't get one is because I like to be able to walk by the tank and know the temps.

When you put new batteries in, try resetting it. Or, leave the battery out overnight to see if it will reset on its own.

Hmm...never knew there was a reset button! I bought another pack of batteries yesterday and it's still doing the same thing so the reset button is my only chance!!!
