Wow! Thanks for that link, that's awesome. I can definitely rig up something similar with the stuff I have around. Sweet! :D

Thanks,

How do you pick them up, with chopsticks? fingers? husband's fingers? :D

If you aren't wanting to sell, what do you do when there becomes too many of them?

What extreme temps can they handle?

I'm drawing to the end of my "beetle" research. yeah!

I have questions about roaches

1. Can you feed them to juvies?

2. How do you keep them, in a container or what **pictures appreciated**

3. Any certain needs?

4. How big can they get, and can beardies eat any size?

5. Where can you get them cheap *I live in AZ 115*F(46*C) Can they be shipped at these temperatures??

Thanks

At first I was really grossed out when I got Dubia Roaches. However I put my finger beside them and they crawl onto it. I've come to realize roaches are really sweet creatures, they will sit on your hand and crawl on you and never bite! I also sometimes put some lettuce on my palm and they crawl onto my hand and eat off it. So cute ^^

The temperature they need depends on what species of roaches they are. Some species like it cooler, while some like tropical temperatures.

I'm interested in the dubias. I'm trying to figure out if they need to be inside the house. I'm thinking they are and am working to accept that. It's just going to be toooooo hot in the garage for the rest of the summer and we do get pretty cold in the winter.

I heard with lobsters that a 4 inch spread barrier of Vaseline helps keep them down, if they eat this wouldn't it make the BD sick? I know vaseline has a lot of uses...but is it non-toxic to them? Anyone? (Theres my unanswered question)

I use two barriers of vaseline for my lobsters 60 qt enclosure and haven't had any really try to get out. They won't walk through the vaseline unless it's dried out so you need to put a fresh coat on every so often. Also, it seems like they have a real dislike for vaseline and I've never seen any of them eating it. For my feeder enclosure I use a thin layer of olive oil---which won't harm your beardie if he/she eats a little bit if the roaches get some on them.

The lobster nymphs don't try to climb up and out when they're in the feeder enclosure but instead run in circles or try to hide in the corners in groups. Bruno likes to chase them.

WE love the lobsters, fast breeders but my latest problem is all 4 have decided they don't want the lobsters as much, they want the dubias, and i've kinda gotten attached to the 6 dubias I have  So i'm thinking its time to order more dubia's just for feeding \ breeding.

I received my dubias about a month ago from the Roachguy. The dubias that I received were all alive and delivered when promised. The packaging was very professional and easy to get the dubias out of and into there new home, which was easy to make thanks to the Roachguys info page on the web site. It’s been about a month now and all the dubias are alive and breading… well.. like roaches. Just a liitle while longer and I think I’ll be ready to get away from the crickets all together. The dubias are sooooo much better than crickets. They don’t smell, they’re easy to handle, and once I get my colony up to speed I won’t have to pay for feeders again. If you’re thinking of getting dubias don’t hesitate and definitely get them from the Roachguy. :D

I would love to try roaches, but my parents both say no. They wont even look at this thread and everyone's thoughts and opinions. Those dubias really do look like giant rolly polies!

Hey guys just thought I would drop in and apologize for not getting to some of the questions asked of me with a quick response like before. I have not been able to spend much time up here. With it being summer and being a single fulltime father of two I have been running around trying to provide my kids with best summer I can. So if I don’t answer a question posited in the PM section just give me a day or two ill make sure I get back to you in a day or so.
Thanks guys and take care
Jason

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
