so I treated yoshi for coccidia starting two weeks ago. one week of treatment and then I took a fecal sample to the vet to be retested. well I took it in friday and then had to re-take another sample yesterday because they didn't run the first sample soon enough (which ticks me off that I've had to call them daily for results and had just found out the sample never got run). Had to call again today to get results, and the girl is like "oh yeah she has pinworms, but I can't have meds ready for another hour". Really!? cuz you've known all day and I've told you guys numerous times that I work seconds. sorry just really mad. great vet, very very crappy vet tech.
But I do have a question. if she didn't have pinworms during her fecal two weeks ago, how on earth did she get them? I've feed her silk worms and like 3 micro supers from mulberry farms and then wax worms from petco and petsmart. Which source seems like the most likely place to have gotten it from? I always thought pin worms was something that was more likely to be contracted from crickets.
also is steaming her enclosure and he furniture an effective way to combat the pins worms like the coccidia?
