So this is partially my fault. I had taken Boudreau out on the T-Rex leash which thus far has not been a problem. Well today he decided he wanted to go for an adventure and was getting really peaved that leash was holding him back. He displayed his beard for the first time. At the beginning of this ordeal he kept trying to go into a set of bushes that I would never have been able to get him out of. I was able to finally steer him further into the yard with the leash but continued to be aggressive and run off. Next he attempted the bush area with the groundhog hole at which point I had to pull back on the leash. Unfortunately I was dumb and didn't have my cell phone to call the roomies for a towel or something. Went to get him up after I thought he was calm enough but he was quick. My fault for trying to pick him up and also my fault for reacting when he bit because it tore a chunk of my finger and my nail. Surprised me that he had that much power to do so. It didn't amputate but could have. Cleaned the wound and dressed it. Will keep an eye on it. My roomies finally came to my rescue and was able to get him in a towel. Plunked him back into the cage. He calmed down after a while to ease the leash off and feed him some mealworms by hand. I was the dumb one here but still it shocked me.
