Alfalfa SPROUTS and Squasshhh

1) can i serve the squash un cooked? he seems to love it uncooked and just grated. (butternut squash)
2) i read alfalfa plants are good, but not sprouts. why is that? Actually, its not that they say its not good, they just dont say it IS good. im confused.

I just read the beautiful dragons veggie guide. Under alfalfa, it says "plant, not sprouts" so it's a no go on the sprouts. And it's ok to feed the squash raw!

Yes that's what i have read too, i printed it out as well. But WHY?
there must be a reason, she says no sprouts and yes to plants.

I have a a food list i saw off another reptile forum (the list was specifically for Beardies) and it says you can feed Alfalfa plants as a staple and occasionally feed alfalfa sprouts (so i'm guessing once, maybe twice a week) I'm guessing that the sprouts just aren't as nutritous or may not have the correct balance a beardy needs for it to be classed as a 'staple' food.
There is a whole chart of nutitional value that goes with it but i only wrote the names of the foods down

I feed my boys raw butternut squash and they love it, just make sure its small enough or even shredded
