Afraid of the wind?

i took spike out side today for some much needed sunlight. once it was time to go in she black bearded me for no apperant reason. i got her calmed down enough to take her inside. at the door she squirmed so i put her down. she ran into the bushes and black bearded me again. the only other time she did this was when the wind was strong.

Could she have possibly seen something that frightened her as you were taking her inside, maybe a bird flying overhead ?
Or....could it be possible she just wasn't ready to go in yet ?

no birds or anything moving around me. i had her out for 5 minutes

Persistence helps with young dragons - Kyle was terrified at first, because it's the first time she'd ever encountered the "no ceiling" effect. It's quite disturbing I gather. If you're worried about dragons running off, try my leash design:

i actually had her on a leash but when i put her down she jerked it out of my hand when i wasn't expecting it. she would calm down when i stopped trying to get her but as soon as i reached for her she did it again.

Hmm. You could also try treats - a favourite food and a gradual acclimation to the outside

Ky's very skittish, so we often use the blanket method - when it's all a bit too scary we wrap her up so she can't see and give her a hug.
