I have a bearded dragon my aunt gave me due to leaving her bf at the time and his one dog attacked her what could I use to help the scaring to heal better? And I'm a new member but I have been on this site reading about her ever since I got her and pint know how to post a pic of her

She just told me it was a snapping turtle they had not a dog

Hi there, sorry to hear about the beardie. Is the dragon a baby, adult or in between ? If it's in bad shape you can try to find an experienced reptile vet , or even a sympathetic general animal vet to have a look . If it's just cuts + scratches or very small punctures you can use raw unpasteurized honey [ from health store ] It's a natural antimicrobial.

This when when I was given her and the next 2 are now she's eating fine no issues my aunt had taken her to the vet when it happend and was give med etc that she needed but idk what it was or anything I just want to help her heal faster

She's very active and I just changed out her bedding today I didn't care much for the same my aunt she used kids play sand. Like I said I didn't care much for that so I'm trying the coconut bedding, and she gets feed out of her tank. She is a adult. I tryed looking online to fine out how to measure adults for age but only find for young bd

And as u can see in pics I don't have much in her tank due to being afraid of her hurting herself till it is all healed she don't show no signs of pain or anything when I touch it she enjoys it acutely

Oh wow, how long has it been like that and is that raw flesh open on it's back ? Can you find a reptile vet to take her to ?

Poor thing looks to be in good condition besides the terrible wound.

It would be best to take the substrate out, you don't want anything to get in the wound.

Until you can get to a vet, you can put raw honey + a large gauze pad taped around there.

It's not raw at all and I'm not sure when it happens, I'm going to message her and find out the info on age and when it happened. She don't have a problem with the bedding or the sand that my aunt used when she had her. My aunt is a reptile lover, and did everything that she should of. It may look raw due to her starting to shed again 2 shed since September 2016 since I had her. Lotus is very active and shows no sign of pain since I got her she loves her bath time and my 5 year old and 4 year old they are great with her my boys tell me all the time to but the ochy cream (triple antibiotic cream) on her and I told them today I would find out if I can use it on her. And my 5&4 yr old are very gentle and great with her. When it's warm out late summer early fall last yr 2016 they loved taking her out side and walking her with her leash and harnesses

O.K, well it's good that it healed to that degree, that was quite a wound. Why would anyone put any creature near a snapper, huh ?

Anyway, the raw honey will be the best thing to put on it, but then you have to be sure there are no loose crickets in the tank .
Her weight looks good + she does look alert + healthy other than the wound.

Bc my aunts ex bf was a jack a** to be nice. I just got her 12 crickets today she'll have them gone by tomorrow night since she just had some on last wends she eats when she wants to! And let's me know when she wants food. I guess like me I only eat when I'm hungry I know it can b bad for her not eating everyday but she lets me know when he wants food. I was getting her 100 every 3 weeks and it seems like the help with getting her ochy to look better I keep a eye on her when they are in he viv. They are the only thing she likes in her viv when it comes to get greens veggies and fruit she like being hand feed with them but not with her crickets, she hissed at me once when I tryed to feed them by hand to her. She is one his sweetheart. She's enjoying her new bedding. When she was given to me all I was given was her heat light (only one) and my husbands and my bedroom is in the basement so it's a little cooler and that's another reason why I chose the coconut bedding brick to have a lil more humidity in her tank at night, I just got back to work so once I get everything caught up I'll be getting her more lights threw work since I work at chewy and they have the lights I read is best for her and compared to the prices at a pet store it will b the best option to go to get them. I'm still waiting on a reply on how old she is and when the attack took place

She just got back to me she'll be 4 this October 15th, and she has to look in her book for her that she has for all of her animals she had when the attack happend but she believes last spring, so as soon as I find that out I will let you know when it actually happens. So we'll say all but a ur later it look 1000 times better, look 100 time better since I got her
