thanks, Tracie. We're still in the fighting stage right now. She was okay with the vet and my partner picked her up this morning. There was a little blood on her towel when I got home, but she had a yellow beard and looked was moving around a bit. She looked better after getting those fluids yesterday.
The good news is that she ate two syringes full of slurry (no protein in this 1st slurry, will add some tomorrow).... the bad news is she LAID TWO MORE EGGS!!!!!!!! Geesh, Grommet, I know you like to be high maintenance and all, but really! I'm assuming with the scarring and such they were in some spot they shouldn't have been and the vets missed them on the x-ray?!! Anyways, she strained a ton and laid them right in front of me.... I waited a bit and let her strain (heaven forbid she has more in there). When she wouldn't stop straining, I gave her her two shots (so I wouldn't have to disturb her again later) and turned her lights out to let her chill. Her ceramic light is right on her (she's wrapped in fleece) and she's sleeping. It's around 90degrees surface temp on her blanket. She didn't have much time to digest her food (15-20min at 95-100 degrees), which makes me worried, but I am still more terrified to wake her up with the lights. ARGH!!!!!! This is heart breaking!!!! She did bleed a bit more when she was straining after laying the eggs.... but not as much as yesterday. Oh, and although her insides came out a ton when she laid, it all went back into her vent after she fell asleep.... I'm thinking the meds are helping with the swelling.
I'm going to let her sleep and pray it doesn't hurt her digestion too much. I can't think of any other way to keep her from straining without a cool bath.
She's such a sweet girl and was soooo happy looking when she was eating the slurry!! It broke my heart when she started straining 15min later. PLEASE!!!! NO MORE EGGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can't a girl catch a break?!!!
