Adventures with Gizmo! Pictures out the wazzoo..

Gizmo and I went on an adventure today.. In the backyard. We pretty much do this everyday, weather permitting, but I don't always bring the camera. BUT I DID TODAY! Success! This is an AUTUMN adventure because there are acorns! We played with them. And stuff. >.> Heeee. It was a good day. :3

Hahaha that's too funny!! No way are you weird. I LOVE SCARING PEOPLE. I love it. I take Gizmo to the park and put him on the swings and scare small children.. And old ladies.. And he helped me hand out candy to trick or treaters! xD Ahh.. It's so fun being an exotic creature parent. xD

Wanna know the funniest part? After this the UPS guy always knocks when delivering a package. I think they may be scared of me or something. It is different guys who deliver the packages and they always knock. Some of them actually even know me as that guy with the lizards.

Every time company comes over I am always trying to get them to hold my lizards. I will hold him up t o them and go "come on touch him you know you want to" I have yet to have someone run out of my house screaming but there is a first for everything. I like to also scare people on halloween. I like to open the door put the beardie in there face and go "bearded dragon"

Though I have not scared any kids I mostly get kids laughing.

Nobody in my family likes Gizmo except me. My mom thinks he's funny, but she thinks I'm crazy because I talk to him and I always have him with me. I have 4 lizards. 2 bearded dragons a Uromastix and a water dragon. The water dragon I found out when I bought him he is almost 9 years old so I don't think he will live much longer. At his age he kind of has health problems but I still love him for as long as I have him around.

The Uromastix had a serious skin abcess issues and the pet store just told me to bring him back and could not understand why I would not. The guy at the pet store said he is only a lizard. I brought him back to good health the pet store would have probably let him die. Which I was not going to do since it was there fault he got that way.

If you have a lizard a week or two and then a major issues presents its self it's obvious you didn't cause it. I mean common a animal is not a toaster you just replace when it breaks down.

Should probably talk about Gizmo. He has nasty teeth. I gotta get Nolvadent. Thank you Jasper's Mom!! ! He's shedding most of his body! I'm happy about that. ^_^ I think shedding is so exciting.. Haha.

Never thought of the email address thing. Also for my uro a shed is exciting. See from the skin infection he had he has this big white scar on one side. After every shed the scar gets smaller and smaller. IF you can call it a scar the skin looks normal has scales and everything but it's white. On a black and yellow lizard it's very noticeable. Every shed it is less and less visable. He had other white marks and as the sheds have happened those have all filled in. Of course the one on the side is not since that is where the infection was really bad. That was also the wound he had I thought was a mortal wound. I actually could see 2 of his ribs that is how deep the hole was.

It was from them not keeping him as dry as they should have. But I kept cleaning out the wound every day putting antibiotic ointment on it. I also had an ingenious way to keep stuff out of the would. I would after the antibiotic ointment fill the hole in with a big blob of Vaseline. Then I put clear nail polish over top. I have to say the guy at the store where I bought the nail polish must have thought it was strange that a guy was buying nail polish.

After a month of doing that the wound had closed up and scabbed over. Every shed it never fails the scar is smaller and smaller. I can actually see one day the scar will be gone. Well not gone but at least the color returned. See the spots have scales but there was places where he had more prominent scales like a beardie but not as pointy that are gone. But it would nto be noticeable if the color is back. The other places that had white spots you cant see unless you pick him up and look closely at him.

Oh and I suspect the uro also had gout since I thing they were feeding him insects when they should not have. He was walking with a limp in the leg with gout and I started doing stretching excersizes on his leg. I actually did phisio therapy on my uro. Still think I'm not weird?

Uros are so cute. I used to play with them when I worked at Petsmart. I was the only one who wanted to handle the reptiles. And the uro, tortoises, and beardies were always my favorites.

And the nail polish idea, whoa! Never would have thought of that! Resourceful!

Lauren, that's so sad that your family has not fallen in love yet! I love him and I can't even hug him! When people tell me I'm weird I also say my beardies are like puppies but way better cuz they don't pee on the carpet or eat our shoes. Hermes only tried to poo on the carpet once but I caught him just in time.

Haha, the only thing about beardies is.. I wish they were big, like monitors or gators. o_o.. Then they'd actually be huggable! But then I think about it and that's a horrible idea. Hahaha xD They'd eat like, whole chickens. And holy crap.. Their crap would be too much to handle. Haha.
