Adopted adult male jumping at UV light

Not sure if this is the right place to post, I am new to this forum and pretty new to keeping dragons, we have two female baby dragons who are great little characters so when somebody asked me if I could take in their adult male I jumped at the chance, he seems really healthy as in, he eats well and goes to the toilet regularly and he is very friendly, loves coming out for exercise, holds his head up and his eyes are bright.

My one concern is that now and again he will jump up at the uv tube light, as if he is trying to grip on to it, it is only 2 months old so should be working fine, I have looked incase any locust etc have snuck up there and nothing, is this behaviour something to worry about? Is there something I need to be doing for him different to what I am doing with my babies? I don't want to worry the previous owner unless I have to so am not sure if it is old or new behaviour. Dudley will do this too, if the UVB light is close enough for him to touch it. I had to move mine higher, because I was worried he would break it after continuously launching himself at it and trying to climb it. :roll: I'm not sure why they feed the need to do this, but there are other beardies out there with the same problem LOL.

Is your light in a reflectorized fixture? Mine is, and Dash goes nuts when he sees himself in it

No it's not, it's just the tube, I am concerned he is going to hurt himself jumping up like that

weird lol beardies can be such acrobats sometimes..

My baby beardie used to jump up at his basking light, I had to change the log positing so he couldn't get that close to it, not a problem anymore.
