Hi everyone,

I am kinda new still here and I just wanted to post some more pics and thoroughly introduce Ace and myself! well, it all started on a random day that I found a Pretty big florida cooter(turtle) in the middle of the street and I wanted to sooooo keep it... but I used my magical phone with internet and it said they needed a lot of room to live in so I left him at a canal by my house! then I got into REALLY wanting a turtle and then I remembered my brother has had one for years and they just have it in it's tank and it doesn't really do anything at all, you cant hold it because it's not dosile and it's just crazy! well, I went to petsmart one day to get some hay for my g/f's bunny and there was a customer there with a HUGE maybe 1 1/2ft beardie and I was AMAZED after that I wanted to see the babies there and I went crazy looking up information and finding everything that a beardie required (most credit to that knowledge goes to all of you on this forum.) after about 2-3 weeks of searching... on may 2nd I finally bought a beardie but from a breeder that I had found on craigslist...
this was the first pic and his temporary home for the ride home!

the first few days were a bit rough because I wasn't sure what was right or wrong to do, and I didn't know what was a right or wrong behavior for a beardie to act but it went away after a while! now he has grown about 2-3 inches and he is to big for the 10 gallon that I have him in(please no one kill me as I am currently trying to move from my SMALL room to a bigger room in the house and I don't have room to set up a 40gal breeder that I have had in the trunk of y car for the past 2 weeks. lol!
He loves basking... as all beardie's do. lol!

He likes exploring everything and anyone

I also have started a superworm and meal worm breeding... the superworms are for Ace and the mealworms are also for Ace but as a treat and for my parents birds, I am also now getting roaches and I will begin to breed them like crazy! when they multiply enough I am thinking of selling some of them but I am not sure yet!

Another thing that I was wondering is if anyone can tell me what kind of beardie he is... The breeder told me that he was a Het/Hypo Red, is there a way to find out if it's true?

Wow, your dragon is really beautiful!

When I let Khan out in my room, I just let him roam on my bed. I don't trust that he'll stay out of trouble with all of the things I've got lying around on ground level. He loves climbing on the pillows and scrambling around in this manner, and therefore barely ever tries to escape.

In terms of the in-viv stress, I've read in other posts that you might want to fidget with your viv temps and see if he prefers a different temperature arrangement. However, I haven't had to do anything like this so I'm just going off of what others have written.

Lastly, Dachiu has a good photo library of dragon morphs that you can compare your lil guy to. It really won't tell you much in the way of genetics because you'd basically just be matching phenotypes, but it might be a good place to start. Here's the link:

hi again everyone well, ace has Grown A lot in this short time that has passed by. He LOVES his roaches and is loving those supers also!

I was wondering if this happened to everyone in which when you go to see them or feed them in the morning they kind of go for your finger or hand thinking that it's food or something... now he hasn't bitten me but he has licked me a few times! I was guessing that this happened because he is just starving!!! but can anyone correct me if I'm wrong. please! I will have other pictures up soon and I will have pictures of our adopted bd's up soon! they are both amazing!

Beardies lick to see what things are. That's one reason why it's suggested to not use sand as a substrate (impaction problem). The other reason for that is it can cause repeated parasite issues.

BTW: We had Goldie (then Rosie) in a 20 gallon tank and they both would glass dance a lot, until we got them in the 40 breeders we have. I think they were getting soo big they didn't like the small tank anymore. They don't do it as much as long as they get enough outside time.

So... I am now introducing Amber and Gatwick to everyone! I adopted them both from someone on here...

Amber is a 1 1/2 year old Orange German Giant... she LOVES superworms, collard greens, turnip greens, yellow squash, carrots, EVERYTHING!!! and ofcourse Gatwick the Gentle Giant... He is one big calm dude! now he's not very fond of superworms that much but he does LOVE Dubia roaches and he eats alllllllll kinds of greens!

First is a pic of the viv which it's a bit plain for right now as I am trying to make a stand for 3 40gal breeder tanks which I have ready for Ace and Gatwick!

Thank you very much Barbara!

The best part to me about bd's is watching them grow up and getting HUGE and their colors getting better as time goes by! it's AMAZING!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
