A walk outside

Well today I took Angus (or Angie) outside for some sun since he/she is acting "strange" for lack of any other reason (or puberty). About 5 of my 8 outside cats RUSHED over to check out the weird creature so I shoo'd them all off! Didn't want them going after my critter!

He just sat there, UNTIL I moved to do something (not sure what) and he PUFFED all up and started turning black! I scooped him up and went in to get my camera and go back outside again in hopes he'd do it again. He had his mouth WIDE open too - like he was the BIG BLACK BEARDED boogie man!

Needless to say, with camera in hand, he didn't puff up as much or turn black! Of course ...cause I had my camera. NEXT time I'll take it with me BEFORE I go out the door with him.

Here's a shot though:

cute pic. Goldie bearded me when she's outside on the ground and I'm standing, with my sunglasses on. I've yet to be able to get a really great pic of that because my husband doesn't want our camera outside in the sun (heat damage).

Your camera will be fine outside - no heat damage! I could see if you let it sit out there for DAYS on end and never bothered it, but taking it out to snap pix is fine! What kind of camera is it?

I agree, you should be able to take your camera outside for a little while. I have taken my cameras everywhere, even to theme parks for a whole day and on roller coasters with me (and more than once).

Great picture too!!! :blob5:

It's a panasonic DMC-F228. The reason he's soo concerned is the case is black and AZ summer heat can make the ambient temps, in the sun, about 110+ when it's 95+ in the shade. And the way our girls are, if you don't have the camera ready, you miss the best shots just walking a couple of feet to get it.

But take a look at all those professional photographers out there in the sun and their camera bodies are black. I have a Canon 40D and am outside a LOT with mine w/o any problems. Been out in temps of 95 quite often and even up to 100 and we have the humidity!

Besides, what's the point in having a camera if you can't take it outside to use it!

We take it outside to use it a lot we just don't leave it outside in the sun as black soaks up heat. I think he's worried about the heat affecting the photos on the disk.

I'd say those disks are rather sturdy. I leave my camera in my car lots of times when I don't want to lug it around. It would be in there for 5 hrs or so in the hot humid weather and never had any problems with the camera or the disk. I've even gone as far as washing the disks (put them in my pocket and forgot they were there when I did laundry). Came out fine. While I wouldn't recommend that, it's happened and they've been fine. I've even washed a USB drive and it was fine!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
