I just read your thread and wanted to tell you that you did a great job caring for him and loving him in his final months. I'm sorry he gave up the fight but I'm sure he's grateful for what you did for him. Don't stop being you and caring for these beautiful babies.

I'm so sorry he didn't make it. That is so heartbreaking to hear that you lost him. I got Papa Smurf about the time you got Flip, I think, because I remember when you posted this thread I thought you were the only person on here who was currently dealing with a dragon in as bad of shape as Smurf, and I felt like we were dealing with some of the same problems. I can't even find the words I want to say to you, I'm so sorry.

If you need to talk or vent more, we are all here for you. Only a couple of dragons on here have had stories that I couldn't get out of my head, and Flip's story is one of them. I hope you can find some peace today at least knowing, as others have said, that you did everything you could and it was his time to go.

We've all got to stay on this forum and help people who ask questions and need help with their dragons, in Flip's memory and the memory of all mistreated and neglected beardies.

Thank you everyone. Even tho I still have days that are tough when I remember him, the memories are getting sweeter. I look at pics of him and smile alittle at that dinosaur face of his. He lived so much longer than I ever thought he would. I still have the girlfriend we named Gandora and continues to get stronger and sassier everyday. She needs her food very small because of the rubber jaw. Her tongue sticks out all the time making her look even sassier. Thank you, everyone again for all the kind words.

I'm so glad some of the pain is subsiding and you have those the sweet memories. I'm glad you smile remembering his beautiful dinasaur face instead of crying at his loss. Because of you and your great and loving care he lived longer than you ever thought he would. Because of you he didn't have to continue to suffer at the hands of that so called rescuer and collector that had him before. Because of you he finally had the love and care he deserved. He was a lucky dragon to have you love him so much and take such excellent care of him! You deserve to smile, you gave him the beautiful life such a sweet dragon as him deserved.

I completely forgot about the rescue female you got with him. Gandora is a beautiful name and she is so lucky to have you taking care of and loving her too! I expect she is getting stronger and sassier with you for her keeper. She is lucky you got her and love her.The rest of her life will be as wonderful as the beautiful, caring and loving life you gave Flip while he was here. Please keep us updated on the little lady.
