While I agree that we shouldn't blame the animal, there does come a time where the populations tip to a point that humans do need to intervene to prevent further ecologocal damage. Course by the time that generally hits, we've lost something. I was just reading today about black Rhino's being extinct in the wild. Very sad, but the efforts to protect them just were not enough. Perhaps captive breeding will help, but there's a risk it won't.
Anyway, I'm much more interested in trapping then handing the animals to a humane society. Perhaps they can get adopted out or reunited with owners. If not the spay / neuter mobiles are great to at least curtail the over breeding of felines but that doesn't solve the killing of local animals.
