After reading Gail's rather derogatory comment about "spoiling and hand-feeding fat stuffed dragons"... I felt very upset and guilty as Dexter had developed a VERY lazy attitude towards eating his bugs. If it wasn't within immediate reach, he would literally look up at me and sit there waiting for me to grab it and put it right in front of him. I enjoyed hand feeding him, so it didn't really bother me... until reading that post...
Yesterday, to feed Dexter his bugs, I decided that we were going to just put them in his viv, and let him work for his grub... at first I was worried that he would refuse to go after them, but he was a really good boy, and he actually seemed to enjoy chasing them, he actually did it REALLY quick, 10 bugs gone in a couple of minutes! At least I know he'll "feed himself" so he won't be "fat and stuffed" any more!
He's currently sitting on my chest watching Si play Saints Row The 3rd.
Anyway, back to the matter in hand...
We moved some of the decorative rocks out to stop his bugs from hiding under them, it seemed to greatly increase his floorspace, but that's a different post waiting to be created!
I'll be putting his bugs in for him to chase and catch from now on, now I know he'll actually do it!
