I just ordered crickets from reptilefood.com and I was just wondering howlong 250 crickets last and average beardie. My beardie has been eating a lot more crickets since she has stopped eating mealworms and regergatating everything up. I notice that know I feed her anywhere from 12 - 16 crickets. She is only about 3 months old measuring at around 9 inches. I am trying to keep a stock load so that I do not have to buy any while I am on maturanity leave and not working. Any suggestions about how many I need to last me through 2 months?

My little ones could go through at least 50-60 in a day when they were that young, if you do the math.. that over 250 crickets a week. I would buy 1000 at a time, its the cheapest. if you order from Ghanns its super cheap and the quality of the crickets is amazing. they are super clean.

Right now mine hardly goes through 20. She eats about 6 -7 in the morning and about the same in the evening and than also eats about half of her salad that I put in her viv.

I was worried about how many mine ate and at about 6 months I started to worry how much he was eating.. 50-60 a day easy. As he is getting older he is eating more vegies but still likes the crickets.

I have had my beardie for about 2 months and have never been able to get her to eat more than maybe 25 crickets on a good day. She does not act like she is sick at all though. She has a great amount of energy, very alert to things around her, she just got done shedding it was not the best shed that she has done but I heard that their first shed with their spikes can be hard on them at this was the first shed that she has had with her spikes, she has not had a decrease in appitite it is just not getting any better, she loves to glass dance in her cage, and is starting to like being held and is also starting to trust me finally ( just a little though but it is progress from what it was). When she is running around the skin on her back kind of bunches up though and makes her look really skinny but when she is flattened out she looks like a little chub chub. She is pooping normally and everything. Could her not eating a lot be a problem?

I bought 1000 crickets on April 25th, the same day I got my beardie. I have 2 large rubbermaid containers (24"x 18" x 12") and use 1 at a time. One is always clean and change/clean them 3 times aweek. My don't stink unless you stick your head right in it. I think the size matters for that.
Those suckers are growing and breeding. They were 1/3 crickets and now alot are HUGE. I get a few dead ones but it seems I still have 1000. Alot are to big for her and thankfully there is alot of little ones. They are gut loaded and have no problem with them dying as I read they will die unless they are eaten within a few days.

are you keeping heat on your crickets? They warmer the temps the faster they will grow.

Just at room temperature.
I was expecting them to chirp, especially at night but they don't.

Only crickets that are adults will chirp.

I buy medium crickets and none of them crip. The only ones that make noise are the large ones. I bought those hoping that they might make babies so that I do not have to keep buying them as often. I went through 250 in a week and a half. That shocked me she has started eating more crickets in a day. We are up to 30 a day. I never realized something so small could eat so much it is just crazy.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
