Are you blocking off half of her tank?

Also, be careful with your cat. Cats and beardies (in most cases) do not mix. Especially if you have a young cat who may get excited.

No that's just a piece of cardboard I put on the glass because I thought maybe she was seeing her reflection. The yellow box is just a hide I made for her yesterday. Only temporary until I get something better.

Yes I am always careful with my cat. Only when she is running around is when he gets excited. But I'm always right beside her making sure the cat doesn't get her.

It's winter here as well, and I temp'd the window panes with my temp gun and they're a chilly 59 degrees. Brr! Even I'm cold sitting on the couch near them, so no window time for beardies for a while here unless I rig up a basking spot.

I read all the comments and concerns over having a cat with a lizard and how they should never be allowed in the same room together... If you're not on a mobile version you can see in my sig my pets get along fine. If for whatever reason they were left together unattended for hours I 100% know my cat would never do anything to either beardie. She does get excited and chase a bit when they run across the floor, but she just catches up and goes back to watching. Very gentle kitty :) But I can definitely say it depends on the cat. The cats I had in the past I would never have been able to get a lizard with them around.

That's what my dragons do too when they're sick of worms. They acknowledge it with a lick and then just look around. I think they like dubias because they skitter/run and they can get all riled up to chase and eat 'em. Sometimes I try and slide the worms around in front of them.. it works to get them to eat one and then they catch on

Yeah my windows have a ceramic ledge so definitely too cold for her.

My cat is slowly getting better but is always right by her I'd she's walking around. Will leave her alone when she's on the couch with me though.

I was going to go today to hopefully get some hornworms because she hasn't turned one of those down yet. Even before this happened if she wouldn't eat any of her worms I'd show her the hornworm and she would go right for it. So maybe she does just want some different feeders now.

Also I am waiting to here back from the vet today too! So hopefully she can go soon just to be safe and stop me from worrying about her constantly.

I just introduced my guys to wax worms this week and they were very reluctant at first having just been on a BSFL spree. They had the look of "oh great.... worms again" til I managed to get them to eat one, and then they were hooked.

Even now trying to give wax worms they have the "oh great" look on their face, until they realize they're the fatty ones then the go crazy for 'em... Hopefully hornworms will get her eating again but she might be on a lizard food strike for some variety
My guys are gonna be really upset when they realize more BSFL are arriving today... and not the roaches.. :?

She is usually a great eater never had her turn down anything. Even fruits she loved. So hopefully you are right about that. Might just be sick of her food. But she will starve herself if she doesn't get what she wants? I have waisted so much money lately on her worms dying before she eats them or doesn't. I do just keep them in the containers they come in. Idk what I would do to keep them alive longer. I was told that wax and butter don't live long anyways so maybe just don't buy as much. Wish I could get her some roaches. I have supers that are too big for her to eat. I could make it turn into a Beatles for her maybe or would I be better off not doing that

They are butts sometimes...
When I first got the BSFL for my youngest he declined them.. like.. I bought these literally for you!!!

Luckily with 2 if one declines I can try the other
My youngest won't eat BSFL when they start to go black to become pupae which is actually when they are easiest to digest. Even if I feed him a bunch of plump bright yellow/white ones and try to add a darker one into the mix he will just look at me until I trade it out for the "fresher" ones  so they can definitely be picky.
My older will eat the darker ones, even the flies they turn into, so I have containers labeled for each dragon.

To keep worms fresher you can cool them down so they become less active, around 60 or so degrees. The fridge is too cold for most and will likely kill them, but I've kept BSFL in my closed garage on nicer winter days where it's about 45 degrees or so, just to keep them from going black so little tyke will actually eat them.

If she's healthy she will eat eventually. I doubt she'll let herself wither away to make a point. They're stubborn and very hardy little creatures. Hopefully the vet can give her a clear bill of health and clear up worries there.

Lol yeah well at least they will eat :p

Oh really is thought the cold would kill them faster. They are just in her cabinet in her stand right now. Unfortunately I live in an apartment now so don't have a garage. I could maybe put them outside the room since it's hot in there for her.

The next available appointment is on the 16th. There's one a bit farther that could see her sooner but is like double the price for an exam. Maybe that's a good thing I should go to the more expensive one would mean he's better or no?

I'd say it depends on the cost and the urgency...
Most exams should run about $40, depending of course on the vet. I had a place quote me $65/dragon but they had no experienced vet there so I'm waiting for a trustworthy lady to come back from New Zealand in about a week or so to schedule with her.
Just make sure you don't get taken advantage of - kind of like car repair shops. Exotics vets, experienced ones anyway, are hard to come by in some places, so people could jack up their price for no good reason.

If reviews are available for both, I'd comb through those and see what people are saying.

The cold will slow down the worms so they are less productive with moving to their pupae state. Too cold will kill, and it will also slow down their eating so if you are gut-loading them it can mess with that. Other than that, I just keep them in the container the arrived in. Why not?
I order BSFL 500 large at a time to make sure I can go through them before getting too many casualties. Most of these go to my youngest, then the older one gets the dark ones etc to go with his salads and occasional roaches.

If you're interested in trying roaches, as I mentioned I buy mine online. I'm not trying to promote any specific seller but I feel the best supply comes from ABDragons. Very good quality. I've tried from other sellers but sizes are super inconsistent and packaging can get.. weird.... I have 500 small roaches coming for $24 if you needed a price-point.

Oh i wish it was that cheap would of went long ago. They said is was 114 plus tax a fecal test is 39 plus tax. But they are good they specialize in reptiles and they said they take care for zoo animals at the local zoo. My friend brought his there when he broke his leg. So I think they are a safe bet. Just expensive and kinda far.

That is good to know about the worms. I won't buy as many too because so many die pretty quickly.

I have wanted to order her some roaches and other things. I live in Canada tho so import charges are a bitch right now. Idk if that counts for that site tho assuming it's American based

Hmm that's a good point, I've never purchased anything from out of the country for feeders. I live in Wisconsin in the US, so I'm snugged against Canada.

Per their website, it states:
* Unfortunately we do not ship International orders. :?

The ones I have coming now are from Amazon if that's an option.

If the vet is reputable and know what they're doing, I'd say go for it. Rather spend more money going somewhere trusted than winging it with some random vet office.

I'm sure there is somewhere I could order them in Canada. I will look into it for sure though.

Yes that was my thoughts they wouldn't charge more for nothing.

I'm going shortly to get her some more hornworms and probably some other feeders just in case. She has calmed down tho since I put a hide for her. She hasn't freaked out today she was basking for a bit this morning and went to the front glass eventually. Offered her a collard but didn't look impressed lol

Odd...

Was her head downward while she did it? Is her beard black or normal?
Did she appear to have difficulty breathing or was she opening and closing her mouth?

I know they will puff out their beards and do some opening and closing of their mouths while shedding/getting ready to shed, but they don't often look like they're trying to hock anything up.

Is is possible she has any food stuck in her mouth/throat?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
