Is it too early to expect my little guy to eat vegies? I know they will eat more crickets and less vegies untill he is older and then it will be the opposite.
Is there any tricks to help get him interested in greens? i am dicing up green beans into small pieces for him.
thanks

Generally at 7 weeks their interest in greens is pretty slim to none. Offering a small amount each day before feeding crickets can help spark an interest. Dropping a piece of greens from above, in the dragons sight can help too. Keeping the pieces to be fed small is a good start, smaller dragons are often detoured naturally from larger food items (often, not always). With a 7 week old not eating greens though, there is no alarm for concern as it is normal behavior.

You can try getting some small worms such as phoenix worms or butterworms and putting in the salad. You can also try putting some special treats in the salad such as small pieces of berries or melon, red, yellow or orange bell pepper, kiwi fruit, banana, cactus pear (good staple) any of these can spark and interest.
have you gone to www.beautifuldragons.com and looked at the nutrition page for a list of good salad ideas? It is a very helpful list and has great ideas of things you can use as treats too. We used the worms in our salads and now they all eat every bit of their salads almost everyday.
Good luck but is also like said above not uncommon for very young dragons to not want to eat salad.

It took about three months for Reptar to take to salads. Now he eats them like a champ! Just make the available. Your dragon will eventually take interest. :)

Gutloading your feeders is also a good way to get some nutrients. Gutload your feeders with stuff that is good for your beardie, like butternut squash.

sounds like a good idea? How do i prepare the squash for them? I normally use wheatbix, carrot and gutloader premix stuff.

cool thanks guys and girls.
Do you think i should try and encourage him to eat them or will he just realise that there is edible vegies on a bowl on day and start getting into it?

Mine just kind of realized one day. I would trick him into eating the vegetables from time to time. I sometimes feed with tweezers. I would feed a favored food for a while and then sneak in a bite of veggies. He didn't like it, but it was kind of a "whatever works" situation.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
