I'm setting up my 40 gal tank and had some questions with lighting. I'm using this tank as a temp til it gets warmer out so u can build a 40"x20"x20" and was wondering how long on a uvb light should I get, I don't wanna have to but 2 sizes 1 for each set up. I was thinking of getting a 36" that way it covers the entire space of the 40 gal but is that too much and if I get a 24" fixture will that be too little for the 40"?
Next question, T5 or T8? I don't know which would be best, plus I'm having a hard time finding one that would support the bulbs. I found nice inexpensive T8 fixtures but max wattage is on 25watts, will that work?
Last question, what wattage bulb is recommended for a heat light. I'm trying to limit having to go out and buy 5 different bulbs like I did for my 20 gal than having to return 4.
Thank you
