I always had my phoenix and reptiworms held at the post office, and I called the post office prior and let them know I was expecting something that needed to be kept out of the heat.

That being said, one of my orders of phoenix worms that I picked up from the post office was all rotten just as you described. The smell was awful, and I am a nurse, so I can tolerate a LOT of bad smells, but it made me gag. When I emailed phoenix worms and explained that they had been held at the post office I got a replacement of healthy phoenix worms mailed out to me and they were all good.

EDIT- also note that I live in florida and it is very hot here.

I would also like to mention that when i ordered from reptiworms i did not have them held at the post office and they sat in my mailbox all day because I forgot I had ordered them and they were all very active with no odor whatsoever. So you might want to give reptiworms a try.

Also be aware that most feeders won't guarantee live arrival when it is this hot.

Yeah Ashley I believe they purposely tried to screw me over. I am thankful that I did my order through Paypal so I was able to get my monies back. I've already gotten an order of 1000 reptiworms in and they were great and actually had enough compost so they can all dig under unlike the order I received from Phoenix Worms.

I never had a bad experience with Phoenixworms, but I am now ordering from Reptiworms and things have been rough lately. My first order of 5000 worms got lost by the USPS and arrived a week after they were shipped. Of course they were ALL VERY dead!!!

I contacted Reptiworms about it and they quickly sent out another order (this time of 10,000). I paid for 5000 and they replaced the other 5000 at no charge. I got those in today and 1 of the buckets was GREAT when opened, the other was full of dead reptiworms. I again contacted them and together we discovered that no holes had been punched in the lid of the bucket and they all suffocated in transit. They are sending another bucket on Monday.

I have been VERY impressed with the service I have received from Reptiworms and will continue to order from them. Also the buckets had so much compost in them it was hard to tell there were any worms in them, other than the constant movement of the soil.

I'm on my fourth order from Phoenix worms. First time I ordered 2 100 packs. The last two weeks I've ordered one 100 pack each time. Works out to be the same cost to order 100 each week and get fresh worms rather than order a three week supply at one time with them only lasting a couple weeks.

Haven't had a problem yet, but i do have mine kept at the post office and pick them up as soon as I get the delivery notification. The thing I like about Phoenix worms is they stay in constant communication with an email when order is received, one when it ships with a tracking number and another when delivered.

The other places I've ordered feeders from seem really bad about sending emails once they get my money.

I bought the trial pack from phoenix worms a while back with the small size. They arrived quick and all where alive.
The next time i tried reptiworms since i needed bigger sizes and someone said theynwhere cheaper....it took almost 2 weeks to get to.my home instead of the suggested 2-5days. When they arrived some where dead and all but 3were black already and they died extremely quick!
I just ordered 300mediums from.phoenix again and although they have been sitting in my mailbox almost cooking (thanks FL) all off them where alive and moving and white...
