    On eye closed - Shedding

No coil or compact. I'll put a list of the bulbs I am using. You can see my new set up here. viewtopic.php?f=34&t=244292 I changed it this past Sunday which was the day after I had noticed her starting to close one eye. I just don't know if the change could have aggravated it in any way...

    Beardie lighting and setup

Hi Molly. I understand it can be very confusing when starting out. I have had a rescue beardy for nearly 4 months now and I am still learning every day. They are wonderful pets but can be a little scary when you're suddenly presented with one and don't know what you are doing. The reptisun 10.0...

    On eye closed - Shedding

Update: She is still closing her eyes and has started closing both of them now. Just laying on her basking bulb with her eyes closed. She is eating, pooping and doing all of the other things she should be doing but just keeps closing her eyes. I have changed my set up recently and I am now...

Hey all! First time posting, just have a few questions!

It freaked me out a bit too in the beginning. She used to have a water bowl in her viv, but in the end all it did was put the humidity up and she never even looked at it so I removed it. The way I look at it is as long as she has the opportunity to drink once a week either in the bath or with a...

Hey all! First time posting, just have a few questions!

She's beautiful, love her coloring. You don't need to worry too much about drinking. They get most of their hydration from their food. I tend to wet my greens slightly before I feed so she gets some water that way, not so their soggy, just a light spray. My little one never drinks either and she...

    On eye closed - Shedding

My three year old female is currently going through a massive shed. She is a rescue and I think because her diet has changed so dramatically and she has put on weight that she is almost doing a fully body shed. Her eyes have just finished shedding, but there is still more on her face that is yet...

    Scientific Research on Supplements

I am very interested in researching every aspect of my bearded dragon care. I see there is a lot of research into calcium supplements and there is a definite need for calcium and D3 and a few other supplements in captive dragons that is well researched. One area that I'm struggling to find...

Bee Pollen and Grapefruit Seed Extract

Hi Tracie thanks for replying, She has finished her worming treatment, she was on panacur. The probiotic is bene-bac plus. I had a little scroll through the forum and that seemed to be the one that was recommended the most. She seems to have got on well with it and it didn't put her off her...

    Peter.

My beardie is also out of her viv a lot as she is extremely active and hates being in there, even though hers is the correct size. Just curious, do you have a basking lamp or anything for him outside of the viv. If he's eating and not getting warm enough that could be adding to the issue. My...

Bee Pollen and Grapefruit Seed Extract

I am looking at some natural supplements to put into my beardies diet. She has recently been treated for worms and I have been doing some research on some natural supplements that will help boost their immune systems and generally look after them in the long term. Two of the main things that I...

    Is this UVB correct?

I have listed my set up on here before, but having done a bit of research I'm now panicking that my UVB bulb isn't the right one. I currently have the Arcadia Euro Range Desert 10% Lamp which covers about 3/4 of the length of my viv. I am now wondering if I should have got the Arcadia D3+Reptile...

    Lizard smell??

Thanks I might give that a try if it happens again. We gave her a little scrub with a soft toothbrush and that seems to have helped, obviously being very gentle. I think she just got a bit grubby whilst she was poorly as she wouldn't stay in the bath very long. All clean now!!

    Worried I’m not handling enough.

With your lizard baby I would suggest a really good trick. Take a t-shirt of yours that you have warn and place it in his/her viv. This then gets them used to your smell and starts the bonding process. Then I would start out small, with hand feeding daily. This is a great way to bond with your...
