Well if she is going to the bathroom and eating normally then I think you're okay. I am assuming she is still in shed. As mentioned before, yes, shedding can be a factor. When my girl goes into shed she likes to mope around and gets agitated easily. I just leave her be. I'll hand feed her some...

    New with some questions

I bought two timers at walmart for a total of about six dollars and they haven't failed me in the 13 months that I've been using them. here's a great link for your food question: http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html

    New with some questions

The heat lamp and the uvb lamp must be on for about 12 hours a day. I recommend buying an outlet timer or two. Also the heat lamp on the hot side should give the surface of the basking site a temperature of 105 to 110. Achieving this will give the hot side a nice warm ambient...

I doubt there's more moisture on one end over the other but yes, shedding can play a role in it. When my girl is shedding she will eat less, and thus, bask less. Does yours bask after she eats?

Yeah sometimes you just gotta take the financial hit lol. It's better off for her and that's all that matters. I always comb the beach around here during the spring/summer to find new basking branches. You'll really save money that way. If you do, definitely make sure you sanitize everything you...

Maybe a try letting him out a little longer or more times a day.

    Blood hypo leatherback

kamelotte is right. It's pretty funny how far they take it too. The beardie in the middle, from A-1, looks like mine as a baby and she was sold as a "volcano flame." It worked on me lol. I'm waiting for names like "tundra ice hypo trans" or "solar flare tiger" lol I'd buy either one of those :)

    Glass Dancing on Cool Side

My beardie does it a lot too but I think it's just her way of saying "dude, I wanna hang out." When I do let her out she explores my room for a while then comes back to chill with me at the computer. Actually one time she was going nuts, more so than usual, so I let her out and she darted right...

She could just be adjusting, I suppose. If she can't comfortably lay on the new spot then yes that can possibly discourage her from basking. Just keep track and get back to me soon with an update.

Hello! I'm a new Bearded Dragon owner.

I use a food scale. It doesn't have to be a fancy one, I got mine for like $30.00 at Target. I just put a plate on the scale, zero it out, then I lay my beardie on. Now for length, if there's no measuring tape, you can use a dollar bill and some string. The bill is approximately six inches...

10 minutes of basking will not do. This is going to be a process but she'll be very thankful in the end. I suggest you still lower her basking temperatures a few degrees and test the results. If you have it set at 110, then raise the light & try 107-108. See if your beardie is more comfortable...

Is this new rock structure higher than what you had beforehand? With what device are you measuring these temperatures? Immediately I thought the new outcrop was too hot since she was only basking for two minutes. or she is just getting used to the new decor.

    yellowish shed?

lol she pretty much every color you described. She has a red sort of burnt orange tone to her backside, bright orange head and limbs. The scales in her beard are orange and yellow and this is starting to spill in to a pattern on her sides, just below the side spikes. Also, she has darker blue...

    yellowish shed?

I know exactly what you mean & there's no need to worry. I felt the same way about mine when she was shedding but it just all just flaked off to expose a nice pearly white belly. I was nervous for a few days though lol. Is your beardie orange or yellow by chance?

    Relocation stress?

I've read that screens can filter out a substantial amount of uvb. Where you have it mounted is fine. I suggest lowering the plants that she likes to hang out on. That hide away log you have seems like the perfect basking height. So if you can adjust the plant somehow, maybe lean it on the log...

    Relocation stress?

It seems that she is about two to three inches away from the uvb bulb, this is too close. The basking site should be around 6-8 inches away as the previous guy posted. Also, I could be wrong, but it looks as if the probe isn't making contact with the surface of the half log hide that you have...

    plexi glass or screens?

I've seen a lot of posts about using plexi glass as front for sliding doors and such but I was wondering if there is any reason people don't use screens? Like window or patio screens for the front of the terrarium. I am planning to build my own enclosure in a few weeks and I would like to make...

    hasn't shed in awhile?

It is normal to have the sheds space out as they get older. However, at about 6 months, Sully should still be shedding frequently. Not as frequently as he was when he was a baby, sure, but still frequently. I would guess that you'll start to see lighter scales push up within about a week or two...
