    Beardie Tips

I let ours loose in the house. He scurry's all over the place exploring. Parks back in front of his tank when he gets cold most of the time. Gotta keep an eye on them though or it becomes "find the dragon", which can be quite hard. And he has an outdoor playpen.

    Brumation question.

Sounds like our experience. Ours is a big box pet store purchase and many of us see things we feel are wrong with care at some stores(food competition, food larger then they could ever eat, not enough food per dragon, etc..). So, that considered, what if we are mistaken guessing age based on...

Is my new viv/light setup safe?

Mine is lazy even with a mercury vapor UVB. Beginning to think it's the tile because his nails on tile are like us on an ice rink. Unfortunately more porous tile he can get some grip on is a pain to get poop out of. He's brumating now so I have some time to think about it.

Is my new viv/light setup safe?

Socket is hot and causing the the chipboard or whatever to gas off. I recently had a basking flood(90 watt halogen) start to melt screen. Bigger hole or maybe a mounting kit that would be used to hang heavier fixtures in a ceiling. They are secured to parallel joists and have a mounting box...

what to feed in the winter?

Live and canned crickets + greens until the weather warms up to ship Reptiworms. Haven't seen much of anything else except superworms which mine is too small for and mealworms(nope)

    Early Brumation?

Wish I had an answer but I am a little concerned about ours apparently going into brumation at ~7-8 months old.

    Terribly irritated

I agree with feeding them slower and not offering an all you can eat buffet for 10-15 minutes. I realized this quickly when we first got our BD. Poops half the length of their body seem very stressful when you take 30 minutes to look into their anatomy. Proof is in the pudding, they grow just...

Is petsmart acceptable Place to buy a Bearded Dragon from

Why, to give them a better life. Carlile is from Petsmart and doing just fine. Why pay more for a BD from other sources when you don't go visit the Beardy Mill they are coming from? viewtopic.php?f=44&t=193598&p=1549863&hilit=carlile#p1549863 to viewtopic.php?f=1&t=198263&p=1582650#p1582650...

I would take the pile of worms out of the video. Feed them slower.

The 100W basking lamp Zoomed sent me

They sent me it as a replacement for the bulb that failed on me. The replacement burnt out in 3 hours. I don't use them for basking lamps after the first failure but I set up Carliles 20 gal tank on my fireplace hearth so he can hang out with us upstairs and figured may as well use that bulb...

    Puzzling food feeding dilemma

If you don't have an hour a day to commit to a bearded dragon then I feel you shouldn't own one. Trust me, it takes about an hour a day for any pet. No offense, just reality. Keep waving veggies around to get them interested. Leave veggies in a bowl. There are days mine won't eat any...

    Is This Normal?

Looks like too hot to me or trying to get out of the light(IR). Got something on that side of the tank to give a shady spot?

    pictures?

Upload them to a picture hosting site like flickr or something. Most will give you links to your picture in BBcode. Copy that code and paste it into a post. That's how I do it.

    How many to order?

Did 700 extra small once. More work then I care for. You will probably move up a size every couple weeks or so. We didn't have a baby. Probably 4-6 weeks old when we got him.

    How many to order?

700 small worked out well for me when ours was young. Even the large I order now stay alive for a month in my basement which is usually 64-68 degrees in summer and a little cooler in winter.
