I would just stick to your daily routine, lights on in the morning, maybe cut back his food if you find he isn't eating as much, but always give him the option. Make sure he has a hide spot so he can get away from the light if he wants to. and lights out at the end of the day. Pretty simple...

I've used a soft cooler before, keep a part of the zipper open in the car, but you can close it up for when they have to go outisde. Towels and heating pad, just make sure it's not too hot. Since the cooler is lined, if he poops it's not hard to clean it up. Hope that helps :)

My dragon is sensitive to his UV light. I can always tell it's time to change, because his poops become more runny. I did ask the vet about his runny poops last time he was there, and they said that as long as he is well hydrated, it's not really a big deal.
