    4 week old rescue impacted...

I need some help with a 4 week old rescue that I've taken on. I actually took 3 clutchmates, all of whom were very ill. One died a few hours later, another is doing quite well but is still a little weak, but the third is the one I need help with. He is very lethargic 90% of the time - laying...

    unexpected rescue. help! (Picture heavy!)

You're doing a great job with him. He's got beautiful colours, too, and he is so sweet. They do get stubborn sometimes, don't they! At least he refuses outright and doesn't take it in his mouth and then spit it out! He may always be smaller, but I'll bet his heart is huge! All the best!

Am I the only one who can't post pics???

Okay, folks. I'm goin' nuts here. I have tried for the last hour - and have spent many hours of my life in the past two years - trying to figure out how to post a pic on this site! Now, I'm not necessarily the sharpest crayon in the box, but every body else seems to be able to do it and I...

    My two new rescues

Lookie lookie what I got!!!! These two little ones were given to me by a woman who`s beardie had a clutch (or litter as she said...lol) of 22 eggs. Only 7 hatched, and four died within a couple of days. The three that survived the next three weeks were frail, paralyzed, had MBD, were...

    CHEAPEST place to get crickets

It might be husbandry, perhaps, but usually if it's really cheap, then they're often old stock that the seller is wanting to get off his hands. Crickets are hardy but they can only spend so much time in a shipping box without adequate food and moisture before they start dying off -- and it's...

    mealworms?

Yes. little guys like anything that moves around! Unfortunately, mealworms are not very good nutritionally. If you are going to feed them to him, wait until they've just shed and are paler in colour. They'll do this several times throughout their little lives. Alternately, try to get some...

    Anyone have advice?

That's just what I was gonna recommend! My beardie would get very picky and hold out for days until he got worms. Then I started putting the worms in his dish and putting his veggies on top - a nice mix of all kinds of things. When he saw his food moving, he'd go for it. While going for the...

    CHEAPEST place to get crickets

Just a word of caution, here. Cheapest is not always the best way to go for your pet`s health. You may be paying a lower price, but you`ll almost certainly be getting old product and a higher death rate during shipping not to mention a shorter life span while you have them. Do your math! If...

Growing Phoenix Worms: A Step-by-Step Guide

Hello all. Just an FYI. I ended up having to buy the Flukers pad that has the adhesive... All I did was apply some plastic wrap to the sticky side and voila...problem solved. Happy worm growing! My Beastie loves them! The Worm Lady Annie Brenner

    Re: cheap coach factory backpacks

I see this has been on a lot of pages on this site. Thought I'd put it here for someone to check into. It's not what I expected and thought someone at the management side of bd.org should know about it. Thanks! Beastiesmommy ***************************** Growing Phoenix Worms: A...

    Lost Beardie Outside

I absolutely agree. Sometimes, I think that beardies have more lives than some cats I've known. I guess the fact that they've survived in the Australian outback forever works in their favor!

    Beardie not eating crickets?

Ah. My Beastie's previous owner fed him those dried pellets and a few dusted crickets daily for two and a half years before I got him. It's not easy to make the transitions to different foods. I know mealworms aren't the best, but perhaps if you put a few in the feed dish with two or three...

    Beardie not eating crickets?

Have you changed the calcium or vitamin dusting powder? Sometimes that can change the taste or smell of their food enough to make them turn up their nose at their usual foods.
