    Question on building viv

If you're planning to make the tanks out of plexi, you can use acrylic welding to stick them together. It's essentially an acid that melts the plastics together. It takes 24 hours(very conservative estimate) to set, but after that it is perfectly safe.

    roaches?

It is generally not advised to keep bearded dragons in the same tank, and a 4 ft by 13 inch tank is definitely not big enough to hold 2 beardies. Most multi-dragon enclosures I've seen are usually custom build and way bigger than that. As far as roaches go, just look online for small dubias...

    Male Dubia mass die-off?

I bought an equal number of male and female dubias a month or so ago.. trying to start up a colony (had one a while ago, but got lazy and let it die off. I got some nymphs already, but it seems that all of my males have died off within the last few days. no dead females at all, only males! I did...

    Any advice wouldbe appreciated.

I know regular calcium with D3 is a no-no for beardies in general, but since the UVB is what they need to create D3, which allows them to absorb calcium, a dusting or 2 might not hurt, especially if hes been going without D3 for a while.

    Advice on Jake? With pictures!

My dragon Scylla went through a similar phase a few months ago, and even stopped eating veggies for a while, needless to say, I was worried sick. I came on here, asked a few questions and basically heard back that as long as shes active outside her cages its probably not a big deal. a month or...

lethargic, hiding all day, not eating greens

ok awesome guys! thanks for the tips, I will chill for now, and keep an eye on her habbits. I should be just letting her do her thing right? as in leave the tank the way its been (other than turn the lamp up a little to account for my room getting a little cooler), but no need to disrupt the...

lethargic, hiding all day, not eating greens

I checked her belly, and there does seem to be a lump over on the left side towards the back, but its kind of long and skinny, so im not sure if its just an organ or muscle or something. Should i take her to the vet? she has been pooping, but rather irregularly, and I just gave her a bath...

So, the past week or so my beardie has not been basking at all she either hides under her rock or on the cool side of her tank. She also has seemed to stop eating greens. if i throw a few crickets or roaches in there, she is all over them, but i cant get her to eat any fruits or vegetables for...

Hey guys, I have a dubia colony thats been up and running for a while now (awesome to have a supply of free food) A couple days ago, however, I noticed a bunch of fruit flies that have apparently taken up residence with my roaches. does anyone know of a good way to get rid of these pesky buggers...

    DIY Feeders

Hey guys, I have recently started a dubia colony...and just got my first batch of free roaches a week or so ago! This is great, since I don't really have a good reliable income right now (finding a decent job while taking classes seems to be a harder task than i expected). I am also about to...

About to lose it with this dragon.

have you been giving probiotics at all to help her deal with the meds? also, how long did you try reptaid for? Ive never tried it myself, but i hear good things from most (but not all) people who try it...I believe 3 10-day cycles are suggested for coc..

    Reptiworm.com COUPON CODE

Reptiworms are black soldier flyy larvae. They are the same species as phoenix worms and calciworms (if youve ever heard of them) They have almost a perfect calcium/phosphorus ratio, so they dont need to be dusted (although a weekly multivitamin is still a good thing to do). Generally a good...

    Health of a silkback

the silkback gene combination was produced circa 2005/2006, meaning none of the silkies in existence have reached an age where they are considered "old". So we really arent sure how they age. I was reading something by a guy who claimed to breed male and female silkies together without issue...

SB no BS...the truth about Silkbacks?

That is another thing i was thinking about...the oldest one is 5 years old, so we dont really know how this affects their life expectancy or any of the long term effects. People who own them tend to say that they behave just like normal dragons in youth though, so thats a good sign. I would like...

SB no BS...the truth about Silkbacks?

I read that theyre actually mssing 2 layers of their epidermis, Also, if they absorb UVB faster, does that mean you can just get a weaker UVB light? I am really curious as to how they would hold up in breeding. Its really unfortunate how bad of a rep they have among the herp world. (or at least...

SB no BS...the truth about Silkbacks?

yes i actually heard that their skin was more fragile, and there was almost a discussion about whether than affects them breeding or not, but it was cut off by petty bickering. anyone ever breed silkies before? is their skin THAT fragile?
