    My beardies will not touch crickets anymore, thought it was just a phase but now they only eat locusts. They like yours just suddenly went off them, but they now love the locusts, super worms and also the occassional roaches.

    another way is to look at the rear legs, if you see bumps along his legs, that look like warts or similar then thats another sign of a male as they tend to be more prenounced on the males, and at a year old they should be there.

    at first glance I would say female, there seems to be a distictive bump in the centre.

    you can tell the sex by the lumps under the base of the tail, hold your beardie and then lift the tail upwards not too much and you should see either one lump at the centre just near the slit or two lumps eithe side depending on whats there depends on the sex.

    my male loves to bob and the occasional black beard, but has no stress marks and is very placid, i think its just their way of communicating and also when he first learnt he could do it he was like a kid with a new toy. He will sit proudly on his log or rock and happily bob away.
