How do you get crickets out of the viv?

Hehe I get my best ideas when sleeping too. I have a note pad at the side of the bed to write things down, cos I can't get back to sleep for worrying that I will forget. Main problem is reading my own sleepy writing.

Good on you for acting so fast on the advice given. It may look a bitty bare compared to what it was but its best in the long run.

Dubia Heat Mat or No Heat Mat

I was worried about the heat mat too, so I made a polystyrene box that I can put the large plastic tub in. I have folded an electric blanket so it covers the bottom and the sides of half of the tub and have it on setting number 2. Temps are holding up well with this set up.

    Big step backwards

Bathed Horace, Esme and Gytha and they are all scared of me again. Prior to this I had them eating out of my fingers and they would come onto my hand, now they just run and hide. Gave them pheonix worm for last 2 days in their dishes (couldn't get crickets), gytha not eating, had to force feed...

    ATTACK ISSUE

Poor Ollie, this is why they need seperate enclosures. They may live together for a while in what seems like harmony but eventually this sort of thing happen. If you don't seperate them you could have a death on your hands, or at the very least, large vet bills due to Ollie needing treatment...

    blankets?

I bought a pack of face cloths and they each have one to snuggle up in at night, I have spares for when they need washing. I have to cover Esme and Horace, but Gytha has gotten the idea and goes and snuggles herself in when she thinks its bed time, normally anywhere between 9 and 10 pm.

Site will be offline on Wednesday evening, Jan 19!

OMG what am I going to do? This is now the first site I look at after turning my laptop on and I return to it numerous times in a day. If I have to do housework, or if I crack up, then I will hold them totally responsible. Hope all goes well and we get our site back in the same condition it...

    Not basking long enough

2 out of 3 of our beardies don't seem to be basking for long enough after eating. I put them on their basking spots but they just run off and hide, they do come out later and bask for a wee while but they don't sit there for any lenght of time. Will they settle down and bask more when they get...

Having probs getting Horace to bask for any lenght of time, have tried putting him on his basking spot but he just runs of and hides as soon as I slide the doors shut. Think he manages a bout 10 mins is...

I am putting the roach bin into a polystyrene box for insulation, where exactly does the heat mat go? Will it melt either the box or the polystyrene if I put it in between the 2 of them? Any ideas on the heating situation would be great. Thanks in advance guys Sue

    Horace, Esme and Gytha's thread

Finally picked them up on Monday, still very frightened and stressed. They all came out yesterday for food and were all quite lively from teatime till about 8pm when Horace went and hid under his basking spot. The girls played till lights out. Happy to report they all slept in their beds with...

    In or out of viv

I like the idea of feeding in a seperate container, but as I just got my beardies yesterday they are still very skittish and if I take them out it stresses them and they don,t eat (Esme). I fed them hoppers inside their vivs tonight and they went mad for them, my only worry is that they may not...
