    Feeder Question -Infection

My roommate and I got a feeder from someone else who couldn't get their ball python to eat. They had an accident and the rat's tail de-gloved. The rat has since gotten a slight infection. Would it be unsafe to feed this rat to one of our snakes? Thanks in advance.

    Introducing Ares! *photos*

Hello everybody, I'd like to introduce the newest addition to my reptile family; Ares! I got him Saturday, October 9th for my birthday. He's still just a young one, though I forgot to ask how old. He's confirmed as a male, and is a standard colour morph. He's already eaten a live rat pup and...

    One Year Anniversary *photos*

I'd just like to share with everybody that one year ago "today" (September 19, 2010) I got my mali uromastyx Stan. I bought him from a pet store that was severely mistreating him, and though he doesn't really have a spiny tail anymore, he's lived a happy and healthy year :) Here's a recent...

    Ball python feeding

I'm interested in getting a ball python in the near future, and I have a question concerning feeding. I have been reading up on a number of care sheets and sources and one in particular said that it's best to feed the snake in a separate container than it is being housed in. The justification...

    Darkened Tail

For a while the end of Gork's tail for a few inches has been darker than the rest, and I have attributed that to the skin not shedding there. From what I understand that condition makes this occur, and the last time his tail shed I took note that that area did not. He has not suffered any injury...

    Squash?

I have a lot of butternut squash left that I bought for Gork and though he eats them he's not all that crazy about them. Anybody know if Mali Uromastyx can eat butternut squash? If Stan can eat it as well I'd like him to have some, to avoid it going to waste :( Thanks

    How do you prepare Squash?

I've read many times that squash is really good for beardies and I've wanted to give some to Gork for a while. However, the only thing holding me back is I'm not sure how to prepare it, or if I even need to. I've never even had squash myself. Could anybody tell me how they prepare squash for...

    I -really- need advice

Gork has been having on and off fecal issues for a while and I'm getting a bit desperate. Throughout October it seemed to lead to an episode that resulted in him staying overnight at the vet. I got a test done the same month and he was diagnosed with pin worms. He was treated for those with a...

    4 Days Without Pooping

Gork has gone 4 days now without going poo. The last time he did was late Sunday night. It does not seem to be effecting him negatively; he isn't displaying discomfort, still eats and is just as mobile as always. I've given him a warm bath two days in a row now, but still nothing. I'm worried...

Need Help: Breathing issues + possible brumation

Tuesday Gork started what appears to be brumation; he spent the entire day in his cave only ate a little. This behaviour continued today. However, I also noticed that he was puffing his throat out a lot while breathing when I took him out to check up on him yesterday and today during his bath he...

    Gork Past & Present *photos*

Hey everybody. I've been a part of this site for a couple of months now and I think it's long overdue for me to show more of Gork. So, without any further delay, here are some photos of him I've chosen to share :) I'm amazed and what reptiles will find comfortable sometimes  And...

    Ornate Uromastyx Breeders in Ontario?

Hey, my brother is interested in getting a uromastyx ever since I got Stan and he's trying to find somewhere he can get an ornate uro. Anybody know of any breeders in Ontario? Any amount of information would be great. Thank you :)

    Gut-loading with oranges?

I've read that bearded dragons cannot eat anything citrus, and I have never fed it directly to Gork. However, I do gut-load his crickets with oranges, as it seems to me to be the easiest thing to give them. Is this bad for Gork? If so, what alternative do you suggest I feed his crickets?

    Food-dish bed *photos*

I came home a bit late last night and when I entered my room I found Stan sleeping in an adorable place, so I thought I'd share with you all. He really isn't picky about where he sleeps. He ruined the hide he dug for himself, so I guess a plate was the next best thing :P

Gork stayed overnight at the vet...

On the afternoon of Wednesday October 14, a week after going to the vet and getting a clean bill of health, Gork showed visible signs of pain. He kept doing a weird hiccuping action and showed aggressive behaviour. Leaving him alone after trying to see what was wrong, he started spinning around...

    How old was he? *photos*

I've had Gork for almost 8 months, and I'm not 100% sure how old he is. When I bought him I was told that he was 6 months old. Considering how small he was however, and the fact that he and the others hadn't been at the store that long, I've always been quite doubtful. Would any of you be able...

    Stan goes for a walk

I decided to let my Mali Uromastyx Stan out for a walk in the hallway today, since the cage he's in isn't exactly the best accommodations (I will be getting him a larger cage very soon). The way he often claws at the glass makes me feel bad so I figured a walk might be good for him. Once I let...

    Introducing myself and my lizards

Hello everyone. I just joined a couple days ago and I'd like to introduce myself and my lizards =) I've got a juvenile Bearded Dragon named Gork, who I got back in February 2009 and I believe is male though I'm not 100% sure. I've got what I'm guessing can be called a sub-adult Mali Uromastyx...

Bearded Dragon fecal condition - is he sick?

Hi, I have a juvenile bearded dragon named Gork. I am afraid that he may be suffering from some intestinal problems, but I'm not sure if it's been a series of coincidences or if there really is a problem. I've had him since he was a baby, back in February 2009 and after a while his feces started...
