I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I learned on this site that blinking lights can have an affect on beardies. It was posted as a reminder at christmas time. Maybe someone with more experience can elaborate. Chris

    finding it difficult to poo?

Give him a warm bath, with water up to his elbows, for twenty minutes. You can give him a little bit of unsweetened applesauce or a drop of olive oil. That should help. How long have you had him? Can he be impacted by substrate? or food too big? Good luck! Chris

beardie ate a piece of foam

On March 1 st , my beardie accidently ate a green piece of foam! It was a craft from my daughter and shaped like a leaf. I saw it in her mouth and tried to get it out. I couldn't! I was so worried, because I could not afford a surgery to extract it. But it PASSED!! From reading on this site, I...

    New Breadie *Kricket*

Congrats! Baby beardies should eat food only as large as the space between their eyes. Babies should be fed 3 times a day, as much as they can consume in 15 minutes. Take out any uneaten crickets as they can chew on your beardie. You might want to feed in a seperate container. Baby beardies can...

    pooping after phoenix worms

Phoenix worms are a good thing!! It is possible they weren't digested properly. That can be from insufficient lighting or the light was turned off too soon after feeding. To the other poster about the vet recommendation to take off phoenix worms as a feeder: Is the vet experienced in...

    stuffed animals?

I thought it was weird, until I tried it. I do find my bearie cuddled on hers sometimes. I also thought the beardie burrito ( wrapping your beardie in a blanket ) was strange too, until I did it. My beardie stays in her burrito over night. Chris

    Phoenix worms as staple

I use phoenix worms as a staple. My bearie is 9 months old now.I got tired of dirty , smelly crickets. It worked out for both of us! You can order the phoenix worms from the phoenixworm store online. All phoenix worms are from there originally anyway. Good luck! Chris

    Bathing

I give my beardie a bath every couple of days. They absorb the water into their bodies. This keeps them hydrated. So i guess if you give regular baths, you shouldn't have to mist. See what others reply too. Chris

    Hero was scared.

That is funny! Same thing happened here too, last week. It looked like my beardie bindi was not breathing. I opened the cage and blew on her. No response. I was afraid she was dead, and poked at her with a tweezer I use for her worms. No response. I woke up my sleeping husband, 2a.m.!! He put...

    Babysitting a Beardie

He may need a little time to adjust to his new surrounding. They can go through relocation stress. You shouldn't need a heating pad. Beardies don't feel heat through thier stomachs. You can give him a warm bath to keep him hydrated every few days. He might poop in it though. Good luck! Chris
