So my bearded dragon Spike is exhibiting some behaviour that has me a little concerned. Today he was making a TON of noise downstairs, every time I went to check on him he was running around, trying to climb the glass walls, and even banged his head on the walls a few time. He seems to have calmed down now but I'm a little concerned. It was almost like he couldn't sit still, he just kept running from one end of the cage to the other. Has anyone else seen their dragon do this and what does it mean?

Mine does this too, and I've heard of others that do the same basic thing. I'm not sure why though. I'm new to the beardie world but I'm sure someone more experienced will come by and know why. Heh

It could well be a problem with a number of things try not to let your dragon hurt itself, I have to go now.

I'm sure someone will help you soon.

He's about five, I've only had him for a little over a month, a friend at work owned him before that since he was a baby. Is it possible he just wants attention?

Oh its very possible.
My boy Ruben will go to the extent of a full black beard and pancake until I pick him up and tell him what a big boy he is. Men
If you have had him for a month he may just have begun to start to want to be around you.
Dexter wanted to be on my lap 24/7.

I am having the same problem here! Normally my beardie is layed back. No changes happened, so I am confused. I would like to hear any comments too.

Well I will try and give him some more attention!! I had him out for over an hour tonight, he ran around and tried to jump off the couch as usual, eventually tired out and fell asleep on my chest for a while. As soon as I put him back in his tank he literally started trying to climb the walls!!!! What a weirdo... I guess I'll just try to get him out and about more often!

Could you fill us in on the size of the tank and what wattage basking bulb(s) you're using? Also, what type of thermometer and what are the basking & cool side temps? If you could also let us know what brand & type of UVB you have, that might help shed some light on things too.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
