    screen top

Hello. I have a few Zilla screen tops on some of my tanks. They are very durable. I haven't had any problems with them. But I'm sure either one you listed will work fine. Although, I think glasscages.com offers a hinged one - which could make life easier on you. Hope that helps. :)

    Opinions about my cage

Please do not keep a dragon outside in Florida. It is WAY too humid for them. Your beardie will wind up with a respiratory infection - especially in the summer. Taking him outside for supervised sunlight basking is fine. But don't leave him outside to live.

    Changing lamp?

Repti-Sun tubes are awesome! :D Definitely a great buy. I use them for all of my dragons. Also, go to Walmart for fixtures. I think they cost around $9 each. They come with a lightbulb for plants in them, so just throw those bulbs out and pop in the Repti-Suns. And viola! Happier and healthier...

    Worried

You can try feeding her a small amount of baby food. Mix some chicken baby food with squash baby food and a little water. Use a syringe to feed her. Try dropping a little on the tip of her nose. Most dragons will begin licking it off. If this doesn't work, you will need to force feed her. Only...

    Potentialy Broken Leg-Need Input

I am so sorry this happened to your little guy. Poor thing! It sounds like he needs to get some x-rays shot of that leg. He could have dislocated his hip or broken/fractured a bone. I'm not sure what a vet can do about a dislocation in a beardie. If it is broken or fractured, a cast may be used...

    A whole bunch of problems...

Well the vet visit got postponed until today... but we finally got it done. The vet did a calcium level check for Frosty. She said that his levels are very low. She prescribed the liquid calcium for him. She also sent home a dewormer for him - Ponazuril - which she says works much better then...

    A whole bunch of problems...

Thanks for the response. I currently have Frosty on paper towels. I soak him every day, but the mites do not move when I do. They are clamped in between his scales. Is it possible that they are dead yet still attached? When my baby boa had mites, we switched her to paper towels. I would use the...

I think My Bearded Dragon might be impacted and her tail is

Start off with a warm bath. Soak her for about 15 - 20 minutes in warm water (around the temp that you would bath a human baby in). Dehydration can often cause impactions. How do you offer her water normally? Also, how big is she and how big are her crickets?

    A whole bunch of problems...

My baby boa, Lola, passed away a little over a month ago from mites. And as careful as my fiance and I were about spreading them, somehow just one dragon picked them up (and of course it had to be a juvi :( ). I have been treating him with a mite spray (JurassiMite), but after every treatment...

New BD is a mess. Belly lump.

Hello. I'm afraid I can't say much about your little guys lump. But I would try to get him seen by a vet, especially if he is an older guy. As for "beardie bible rules", I'll try to clarify those for you. -Infrared does disturb their sleep. Beardies only need heat at night if the temps drop...

Is this set up okay? Little paranoid! (pics)

It sounds like you are on the right track! Keep trying to increase the amount of feeders that your little one is eating. Protein is so important for growing beardies. Also, check out http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html for an easy to read guide for veggies and different...

I'm not sure how good the calcium is that you are using. Double check if it has D3 in it. With the UV lights you're using, you will need D3 in the calcium. Are you dusting one feeding per day, five days per week? You may also want to grab some RepCal Herptivite, too. It's a good vitamin...

Is this set up okay? Little paranoid! (pics)

I would stick to the 1/4-1/2 inch crickets for him. But he should be eating more than 20 per day. Usually when the UVB isn't the best and the basking temps aren't right, their appetite will decrease. My babies generally eat about 75 crickets each day along with at least one bowl of salad. You...

Yellow Fungus? Rescued Beardie today and need opinions.

The black spots that she has look like they could be burns. But I still believe the bulk of her skin problems are simply due to retained shed. It basically means that the shedding skin dried out and stayed attached to her, rather than flaking away. It is usually due to dehydration. As for the...

Is this set up okay? Little paranoid! (pics)

The proper distance from a good UV source should only be about 6 inches. Using the reptiGLO 10.0 bulbs requires further distance as the bulb has been linked to eye problems. I suggest buying reptiSUN 10.0 bulbs. Petmountain.com has them for about $20. Also, your beardie should be eating small...

Yellow Fungus? Rescued Beardie today and need opinions.

Hello. Good for you for taking in a beardie in need! She certainly looks like she could use some help. She doesn't, however, appear to have yellow fungus. Judging by the pictures you posted, it seems like she is having a problems with a retained shed. Good, long baths should help with the...

D'Zill Is Walking on the side of his Pad...G/f and I Are Ner

Lets see if we can't get this problem figured out. For starters, turn off the coil bulb. Its doing more harm than good for your dragon. You need to purchase a ReptiSun 10.0 TUBE bulb. Got to petmountain.com. They are super cheap. What type of thermometer are you using? 85* is way too cold for...

    mvb question

Murcury Vapor Bulbs (MVBs) do not come in tubes. They are a screw in bulb. And it could work in a 55 gal. However, if you're using a standard 55 gal fish tank, the floor space is not enough for a dragon. Look into getting a 40 gal breeder tank. You can use an MVB for that tank. And with MVBs you...

    Beardie eggs

Take the coil bulb off of them NOW. They cause way more harm than good. Go to petmountain.com and order ReptiSun 10.0 TUBE bulbs. Get two so you can have the second for the new tank. What are the temps on their basking spot? And what are their cool side temps? Temperature is very important for...

    Beardie eggs

You will want to seperate them asap. The male will over breed the female which can have horrible consequences for her. You will want to dust her food 5 times per week with calcium and 2 times per week with Herptivite. The eggs don't sound fertile at all, so you can just throw them out. Do you...
