Bearded Dragon Poop Black and Watery!

Update: Olive has Crypto…. I decided to bring in ANOTHER sample because the diarrhea wouldn’t stop… This time, they found crypto in it. I’m waiting on a call from the vet for more information but my research has me scared.

Bearded Dragon Poop Black and Watery!

Howdy! She went to the bathroom again and I snagged a picture. Today, I also gloved up and broke her poo apart to check her consistency. It felt *very* sandy. She doesn’t live on sand! She hasn’t been in a layer box since earlier this year.

Bearded Dragon Poop Black and Watery!

I see! We were doing baths during the end of winter because humidity was at 10 percent but we’re back up to 30 now so I will! And I’ll give that a try. Thank you. I’ll check back in about a week with results :) i’ll add turnip greens, mustard greens, and dandelion greens.

Bearded Dragon Poop Black and Watery!

Hey! Olive had a parasite test done a month ago and nothing came up. But since then, she has had only watery poops as well as black poops. Her urates have been tinged red but I have fed her berries… I’m stumped! Husbandry; 1.) basking spot 95°-100° cool spot 70° 2.) 120 Gallon Tank 3.) 10.0...

    Scooter’s Story (A MBD case)

Update on Scooter. I waited to update this thread until blood work was done. At the visit; - Learned that Scooter is a she, so I’ll be addressing her as Skedora from now on :D - sent off bloodwork - the vet checked each toe and joint and said that they feel okay as of that moment. Initial...

    Scooter’s Welcome

Update on Scooter !! He is actually a She. Scoots and I talked about it very long and hard. The new name she’s going by is Skedora or Skee-Skee! Now onto the news with the vet…. The doctor said that Skedora’s skeleton seems firm and that she has motor function in every joint. So the MBD has...

    Scooter’s Welcome

My coworker’s brother said he didn’t have enough time for him anymore… but the plan is for salads every day but an added dusted calcium/vitamin dusted cockroach/silkworm feast on Mon/Wed/Fri. Last time he only ate one cockroach and one silkworm so I think he’s pacing himself. But the vet might...

    New baby bearded dragon

ahhh!! What a baby!!! What’s their name? I can also recommend Sun-Glo basking lights because they simulate the power of the sun very well. It’s for the basking light (for Scooter’s 65 Gal tank I got him a 160 Watt and it keeps his basking spot ~ 110°F ). They are a little more expensive though.

    Scooter’s Story (A MBD case)

They raise their toes and will keep them there to cool off. However, his will keep moving. Like… I’ll be sitting there and he looks like he’s making air biscuits. Someone once told me that they call it ‘Alzheimer fingers’ because they can’t control their joints voluntarily.

Going on 4 months of brumation

I think the idea is ‘if it continues being cold, I will continue sleeping’. Naturally, the weather would warm up and wake them up as well. You control the weather :)

    Scooter’s Story (A MBD case)

I’m starting this thread to document Scooter’s story and progress! He is 2.5 Years old and never had a t5 fixture nor even a 10.0 UVB light. His was a coil that was set above the tank about 2 feet above where he could reach. Right when I saw him, I knew something was off. The vet appointment...

    Scooter’s Welcome

Okay! He had 5ish silkworms that I dusted in calcium and multivitamin when I got him home. Then refused the rest. He also snacked on one or two pieces of collard green today. Been basking and sitting in UVB all day and explored his new setup a tiny bit. He’s obsessed with his log :)

    Scooter’s Welcome

    Scooter’s Welcome

I have more driftwood! He also has been sitting under the light constantly since I brought him home…. Is it a good idea to mess up his sleep schedule and keep the uvb on all night?
