Scale discoloration, it's white and not regular, HELP.

My beardie, Nel is the same. During one shed he retained some skin around his fat pads for a long time and when it finally scuffed off, the scales were a different shade underneath. That coloration has stayed for every subsequent shed. He's perfectly healthy, as my vet can attest to, so I don't...

    Vet visit, and Panacur questions

So I took Nel to the vet and had a routine checkup and fecal exam done. The doctor noted that his growth seems stunted, but he doesn't show any signs of deformity (I was worried about his abnormally small size, due to the underfeeding by his previous owner). Outwardly, she assured me that Nel...

    Thin and lethargic Dragon

I'm aware of all this. I've felt his stomach already. There aren't any lumps, and he's not sitting with his legs out or anything. I always bathe him in water that is between 90-105F and make sure it's deep enough because as Janie said, he needs the hydration. He's eating plenty of greens, he's...

    Thin and lethargic Dragon

My beardie, Nel, has been looking very thin and emaciated recently. He's also very lethargic in comparison to my other dragons. I feed him as many Supers as he'll eat but usually he doesn't eat more than 8-10. More recently (as in the last two feedings) he hasn't eaten ANY worms, but still ate...

Guide to a Perfect Beardie Habitat!

Well I was thinking since there are a lot of people with LOTS of questions on how to properly set up a bearded dragon enclosure, maybe some of the more experienced members could post here and get a compendium of knowledge going for those who are less well-informed. I know things are different...

    Hornworm attack!

I fed my oldest beardie a small hornworm today, just to see if he'd like them. As he bit it, it swung around and grabbed his eyelid. He ate it quickly, but his eye was watering afterwards. He seems fine now, but I just wanted to make sure there's nothing to worry about. There's no swelling, and...

    MVB and Dome

Mine's about 8" deep and 9" around. I suppose one inch makes all the difference. I'll have to invest in a new dome; this one's getting old anyways =) Thanks for your help!

    MVB and Dome

How deep IS a deep-dome? Maybe mine isn't. It looks identical to the ZooMed one you mentioned, but I don't know the depth on those things.

My thoughts on the sand discussion...

I expect you'll get a lot of people bashing your defense of sand in the first post (although I see now what your intent was). Let me say this; I'm on the fence. I started out as a total beardie-noob, as some here may remember. I heard all the fervor over choice of substrate, and I knew that my...

The Ontario Reptile and Aquatics Expo

Awesome! This'll be my first expo =P. I'm hoping to find a Terrarium of some sort to replace mine, but I don't think there's gonna be many vendors selling that kinda stuff; I could only find one person on the list that was going to be. =( I'll probably pick up some food and substrate too, but...

    MVB and Dome

That's the thing Diamc; I HAVE a deep dome on this viv. Granted it's not ZooMed branded, but it's the same thing. The Powersun bulb just has a really long 'stem' on it. I don't have a clamp fixture either.

Chameleon with Yellow spot on its back

I have a young female veiled chameleon. For the last two weeks, its had a solid yellow splotch on its back that doesn't change color when it does. Any idea as to what it is? I was thinking she might be gravid, but she does have a bucket of soil to dig in should that happen.

    MVB and Dome

I recently purchased a 100 Watt Powersun after I had TWO RepPro bulbs fail on me within a month. Now, the RepPro fit perfectly into my current dome, but the Powersun protrudes just a TINY bit, so that the bulb is resting on the screen top of my viv. Will this shorten its lifespan? If so, is...
