Question regarding Brumation (I read the article already)

Thanks guys. It does help. If there's a mod passing through feel free to close this if desired. It really isn't relevant for health anymore.

Question regarding Brumation (I read the article already)

Smurf doesn't have a very distinct bump to sex with, but I would say female. Smurf's had an almost constant black beard for the past few days, but she isn't bobbing. The bulb is on its way and might be here today or tomorrow. Edit: Vet said most likely male. We had to put him to sleep...

Question regarding Brumation (I read the article already)

Thanks. I've got his temperature up to about 100 at his basking point and I found a bulb that has had less use for a temporary solution. I've got two bulbs on order, the first of which should be here on Monday. After his bath he seemed to improve quite a bit, but only for about an hour and...

Question regarding Brumation (I read the article already)

Smurf my 5.5 year old beardie seems to have just gone into brumation for the first noticeable time. In the past Smurf has showed signs of it but it never lasted more than 3 weeks or so. This time Smurf's been refusing to eat for about 3 months and he's lazier than usual so it fits brumation...

    trimming a dragons claws question

Thanks for the info. I was going to ask the vet too, but naturally they want money.

    trimming a dragons claws question

I'm almost worried about doing it... Are they like dog's toe nails with a vein that goes into the nail? We had an incident with my dog once because of that. I wouldn't even bother with it, but Smurf can actually cut me if he struggles. My mom thinks that a nail file would work well just to...

    Vacation + Beardie = Question

Thanks guys. I already have a timer, and all the appropriate stuff. It's just waste removal and feeding that requires any work. :)

    Vacation + Beardie = Question

I'm in a bit of a bind. I have a couple options. I will be out of state during spring break and taking beardie with isn't an option courtesy of the parents. I can have the local pet store board Smurf, or I can have a local guy I know from school look after him. The pet store is a little...

    Yellow/Orange Urate?

Yellowy brown color to the urate can mean calcium overdose. I had it happen once with Smurf. Cut back on calcium for a week. If it hasn't improved by then I'm probably wrong. It took only three days for Smurf to show improvement.

    Constipation

Smurf won't drink from it either, but it is big enough that he bathes in it daily anyway.

    Constipation

Well he just went, and it was very dry. So I'm going to step up the water in his dish. Thanks for the reply. I couldn't remember if it was olive oil, or something else.

    Constipation

Smurf hasn't been having consistent bowel movements recently. Today he is pitch black, beard, and belly. He is fed crickets and collard every day. He has proper temps, UVB, etc. I think he isn't getting quite enough water. He may be constipated. Is there anything I can do now? Thanks.

    Cricket Noise

If it was Petsmart they were probably already dead. Seriously though: Don't buy from there. One of my friends through my boy scout troop had a leopard gecko that got bit (by an infected cricket). The bite became infected, and he didn't realize it. The gecko passed away about a month ago...
