    Psychic Reptiles??

Hi all, I just want to share an odd little story with you and see what you all reckon... So early November last I posted here asking why my beardie Dennis had suddenly come out of brumation and yet would not eat. Well, as the next two weeks went by he got more agitated and not only that but my...

    Your Honest Opinion on Substrate

I know what you mean about differences in opinion...each to their own I guess! We take in rescue/unwanted pet beardies (and other reptiles). With the beardies, personally, If they're under a year old, it's paper towels for substrate. When they're older, if I know they're free of health issues, I...

    Beardie with some weird issues...

First of all...CONGRATS on your new beardie!! :blob5: :blob8: I wouldn't be too worried at the moment to be honest. His whole schedule/diet/lifestyle has undergone a huge change in the last weeks (even if it's for the better!). As the previous poster said beardies DO NOT like change, even...

    Out of Brumation?

Thanks Tracie, I have noticed he's lost some weight, I've just come in from work and he's eaten some of the veggies I left this morning. He's bathed every second or third day and will drink in the bath. His fat pads look good, not sunken in. Generally speaking he's in great form, really alert...

    Out of Brumation?

Hi there, I'm a little worried about Dennis. About six weeks ago he settled down into his first brumation. He's over two years old and was an unwanted pet that we took in. When we got him he was a little small for his age but he grew really quickly in the first few months. The vet said that this...

    Rescue from Los Angeles Craigslist

Yup, I think it has to be Chance, Kevin(the human beardie) is in agreement. It's a lovely name for a girl and it has plenty of meaning! :D

Thank you SO much for rescueing this little one! I was lurking on the original post but sadly couldn't trust myself enough to comment on the owner without being banned from this site  But now that she's been rescued! :blob8: :blob8: :blob5: :blob5: Good luck with her, you're an angel...

    Styrofoam in the UK?

Hi rob, Kev here, Sarahs (OH) they are the same product and both will melt with extreme heat (flame) and they will also melt when subject to solvents such as super glue, petrol and acetone. If you are using it to build backgrounds or hides the layers of grout will provide insulation from the...

    Dennis new viv!

The other half is as we speak sitting beside me on the couch, drawing up plans for the upgrade on the leopard gecko enclosure....I can hear the cogs in his head grinding as I type. No doubt I'll be grouting caves again in the near future LOL! I'd LOVE to do this for a living but as we live in a...

    Dennis new viv!

Wow... thanks to all for the kind comments  In reply, it didn't actually cost that much, I'd say in total it cost around €50, maybe €55. I bought a bale of styrofoam sheets, two bags of bathroom grout, some liquid nails(about four tubes) and a tub of non-toxic PVA sealant. Broke up the...

    Styrofoam in the UK?

Either way you're good! They're both just brand names for the same thing. B&Q do bales of styrofoam, 1" thick sheets in different sizes for about €12 (not sure what that is in sterling though :D ) Good luck with your project! Sarah
