    Older Beardie

OK, thanks. I can do the fecal the next time he has a poo. I didn't think of that. The UVB light is in the same place at the same distance that's it's always been, so there's no change there. I'm hoping maybe there is something that can increase his energy and appetite a little bit.

    Older Beardie

He doesn't eat much salad, even though I put them in front of him every day. He will eat bugs, but doesn't want to chase them very much any more. I use a Reptisun 10 bulb, and it's less than 6 months old. He's not thin, but he isn't as robust as he used to be, probably because he's eating...

    Older Beardie

I'm getting a little concerned about Jayden, my 10 year old Beardie. He still eats crickets off my hands, but seldom chases them any more. He moves around his viv, but he's not that energetic. He doesn't seem ill in any way, just not as active as he used to be. Is this normal with older...

    Beardie Expelling Air???

Thank you for the reply. He took a huge poo, and now he's back to normal. I won't feed him that many crickets at once any more, even if he wants to keep eating.

It took some work, but I reactivated an old email account, reset my password, and tried again. I'm back with my old user name and won't use #2 again. Now to update my info.

Reptisun 10.0 UVB T5 HO Tubes?

Jayden's viv needs a new light, and I noticed that there is a newer Reptisun 10.0 tube out, the T5 HO. According to the ad, it gives off more UVB's. Is this good or bad? Would it make things too warm? Jayden is now about 7 years old, and doing the semi-brumation thing. Should I stick with...

    Parietal Eye Questions

I don't know, it's something I just noticed. Maybe dampening the area and rubbing it would help?

    Second baby

The powdered food is a complete diet, and you can add crickets or dubia to the little one's diet occasionally if you wish. Just make sure they're no larger than the space between her eyes and dusted with vitamin D3 powder. If you feed bugs too often, they'll hold out for the tasty bugs and...

    Parietal Eye Questions

This morning I had Jayden out for cuddles, and I could not find his parietal eye. He shed on his head recently, so I thought it might be covered with shed. When I took pictures and enlarged them I could find it, but it seems pretty small. It's in a roughed up area on his head, where the...

    Is This a Shed Problem?

This is what Jayden's face has looked like for the past few days. I called the vet, but he's booked up. Is this a shed problem, or something I should worry about? That little indent on the tip in the front has been there since he came home with me. The blood is most likely from an unlucky...

Update I have made the decision about "quality of life"

You did what was best for her by letting her go. He pain is over and she is at peace. I'm so sorry to hear about this, I know how hard it is to lose a beardie.
