    Older Beardie

OK, thanks. I can do the fecal the next time he has a poo. I didn't think of that. The UVB light is in the same place at the same distance that's it's always been, so there's no change there. I'm hoping maybe there is something that can increase his energy and appetite a little bit.

    Older Beardie

He doesn't eat much salad, even though I put them in front of him every day. He will eat bugs, but doesn't want to chase them very much any more. I use a Reptisun 10 bulb, and it's less than 6 months old. He's not thin, but he isn't as robust as he used to be, probably because he's eating...

    Older Beardie

I'm getting a little concerned about Jayden, my 10 year old Beardie. He still eats crickets off my hands, but seldom chases them any more. He moves around his viv, but he's not that energetic. He doesn't seem ill in any way, just not as active as he used to be. Is this normal with older...

    Beardie Expelling Air???

Thank you for the reply. He took a huge poo, and now he's back to normal. I won't feed him that many crickets at once any more, even if he wants to keep eating.

It took some work, but I reactivated an old email account, reset my password, and tried again. I'm back with my old user name and won't use #2 again. Now to update my info.

Reptisun 10.0 UVB T5 HO Tubes?

Jayden's viv needs a new light, and I noticed that there is a newer Reptisun 10.0 tube out, the T5 HO. According to the ad, it gives off more UVB's. Is this good or bad? Would it make things too warm? Jayden is now about 7 years old, and doing the semi-brumation thing. Should I stick with...

    Parietal Eye Questions

I don't know, it's something I just noticed. Maybe dampening the area and rubbing it would help?

    Second baby

The powdered food is a complete diet, and you can add crickets or dubia to the little one's diet occasionally if you wish. Just make sure they're no larger than the space between her eyes and dusted with vitamin D3 powder. If you feed bugs too often, they'll hold out for the tasty bugs and...

    insane mutations! incredible circumstances!

Any updates on the baby with the curled tail? My chahoua curls his tail that way a lot, and I think it's cute!

    Parietal Eye Questions

This morning I had Jayden out for cuddles, and I could not find his parietal eye. He shed on his head recently, so I thought it might be covered with shed. When I took pictures and enlarged them I could find it, but it seems pretty small. It's in a roughed up area on his head, where the...

Whew! Thank you. I thought of that ad, too. :)

    Is This a Shed Problem?

This is what Jayden's face has looked like for the past few days. I called the vet, but he's booked up. Is this a shed problem, or something I should worry about? That little indent on the tip in the front has been there since he came home with me. The blood is most likely from an unlucky...

Possibly Dehydrated Bearded Dragon! Need HELP Fast!

Make sure it's the tubes, not the bulbs.

Update I have made the decision about "quality of life"

You did what was best for her by letting her go. He pain is over and she is at peace. I'm so sorry to hear about this, I know how hard it is to lose a beardie.

    Silliest Beardie Moment

I like the caramel-coated beardie story! Yesterday I had a doctor's appointment followed by 12 hours at work, and didn't have time for Jayden's morning snuggles. This morning he was pulling up the shelf liner from the bottom of his cage, glass dancing, shoving his decorations everywhere...

Possibly Dehydrated Bearded Dragon! Need HELP Fast!

I think I see the problem, or at least part of it. Those bulbs don't do what they're supposed to do and can cause trouble. You'll need to switch to a Reptisun 10.0 tube.

Possibly Dehydrated Bearded Dragon! Need HELP Fast!

I'd give him some diced cucumber for hydration. What temp is the beardie bath? If it's too cold, my beardie fights his way out and doesn't seem to do much in the way of hydrating himself. Maybe it's just him, I don't know. I use a fish thermometer to measure the temp in my beardie's bath...

    Small Tank for a Day?

When beardies are shipped or taken to shows they're in even smaller containers for a day, so one day should be OK. I wouldn't do it long term, but don't see a problem with a day or two. During and emergency evacuation I had to keep my last beardie in a small container for a week, but that was...

Force Feeding - What are your Thoughts on this? Have you don

I'm a gecko person with a beardie, not a beardie expert, but I think that in order to know if the beardie's weight is good, they'd also need to know the beardie's length. A 16" beardie would weigh less than a 21" beardie. I'm just suggesting that posting their lengths would help them to know...
