Well, I'm no real DIYer or have much experience with the construct of enclosures (my Father has helped me build *one*), but I AM one for overkill. I pretty much want things to last through a nuclear holocaust. Because you're going to have three stacking enclosures, I would definitely recommend...

I just spent two days sitting here looking through ALL 142 pages of this thread. I now have some great ideas for my Spaz and Helen's new enclosures... and now my poor butt is asleep. :mrgreen:

Both of my current beardies (as well as others that I've taken care of) each have a hide, and they each use them. In my experience, it gives them not only a place to sleep, but also a place to just "get away from it all" if they need.

@PonchoandDaddy - The girls are doing quite well, thanks! I've redone their lighting, throwing out the MVBs that I had been using and replacing them with new Arcadia 12% UVB tubes and separate heat bulbs, with which I'm seeing MUCH better results. Both have little patches of shed going on...
