Need help planning stacking enclosure build

Well, I'm no real DIYer or have much experience with the construct of enclosures (my Father has helped me build *one*), but I AM one for overkill. I pretty much want things to last through a nuclear holocaust. Because you're going to have three stacking enclosures, I would definitely recommend...

    Viv pics only thread

I just spent two days sitting here looking through ALL 142 pages of this thread. I now have some great ideas for my Spaz and Helen's new enclosures... and now my poor butt is asleep.

    Beardie Hide questions??

Both of my current beardies (as well as others that I've taken care of) each have a hide, and they each use them. In my experience, it gives them not only a place to sleep, but also a place to just "get away from it all" if they need.

    Truly Reaching Out For Help...

@PonchoandDaddy - The girls are doing quite well, thanks! I've redone their lighting, throwing out the MVBs that I had been using and replacing them with new Arcadia 12% UVB tubes and separate heat bulbs, with which I'm seeing MUCH better results. Both have little patches of shed going on...

    Truly Reaching Out For Help...

So I just wanted to share a little something that I found. After Leo's passing, I wanted to buy something, in jewelry form, to remember him by and commemorate the time that I shared with him. After days of searching on etsy.com, I found this WONDERFUL silver charm necklace, and knew that I had...

    Truly Reaching Out For Help...

So I brought in the mail the other day, and noticed that I had something from the UC Davis Veterinary Department. I opened it up, read the first line, and absolutely broke down in sobs as the letter fell from my hands. Apparently, my Vets have made a donation to the UC Davis Companion Animal...

    Truly Reaching Out For Help...

I picked up Leo's remains yesterday, and brought my big boy back home, where he belongs. I feel so much better having him back with me. I got the call that he was ready to be picked up, and was surprised by my immediate reaction to the words. I was saddened, relived, anxious, nervous... and...

    cost of keeping a beardie?

I think I personally average about $300 per initial set-up for a beardie, and that's from scratch (keep in mind that that's for EVERYTHING, including snuggly toys and blankies). I keep my own dubia colony, but make online purchases for Supers, Butters, and Hornworms every other month, which...

    RIP Heinrich

Oh sweetie, I am so, so very sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine going through this... *gentle hugs*

    Truly Reaching Out For Help...

I stopped by the Vets the other day, as I was dropping off a fecal sample from Spaz (I had to drop off Helen's a day later, as she wasn't "cooperative" enough to give me one at the same time that Spaz did) to have checked, and while I was there I asked when I might expect Leo's remains to be...

    Truly Reaching Out For Help...

I feel so blessed by all of the kindness and empathy that I have found on this site. Nowhere else, not even in my own home, have I found the level of support that you all have given me. It has been amazing, and I have cherished every bit of it. I am still trying to wade through the sheer mass...

    Truly Reaching Out For Help...

So yesterday was the first day since putting Leo down that I haven't broken down in sobbing tears. Then I came home from my last trip to find a sympathy card waiting for me, from my Vets... I could barely see the words through my tears. I'm having such a hard time without my Leo. After I had...

    Truly Reaching Out For Help...

I remember when I first laid eyes on Leo. It was at the Sacramento Reptile Show 2010. I was a single-beardie-household at that time, and while I loved my little Spaz fiercely, I had never before seen a larger, more beautiful beardie than Leo. I simply had to hold him, and the kind couple...

    Truly Reaching Out For Help...

So I had woken up on Tuesday, filled with a sick lump in my stomach, knowing I was going to have to drop Leo off at the Vet's that day. I had planned on allowing enough time before having to leave for work, so that I could spend a lot of quality time with him and shower him with tons of love...

    Truly Reaching Out For Help...

@Kalyn876 - I fully believe in the power of supplements... unfortunately Vit B has the opposite effect on me; I tend to get really pumped up and wanna enter a demolition derby. And actually, I already take a daily supplement, consisting of high levels of Vitamin C, Vitamins B6 and...

    Truly Reaching Out For Help...

Well, Leo is holding steady in his recent downward turn. Even with my hand-feeding him, he still won't eat much, and has lost weight again. I'm still seeing froth at his lips, and a lot of the time it's a black color, I'm assuming because of the buggies. He's still showing the...

    Truly Reaching Out For Help...

@Menolly07 - Thanks for the Copy/Paste, I'll be sure to bring it up to my Vet when he calls me back with the recently asked for estimate. Do you happen to know how one would test for that, and what the treatment is? @Kalyn876 - That's right, I remember that now. I'll be contacting Tracie...

    Truly Reaching Out For Help...

@mistygirl - So the two Vets that I use routinely bounce things off of each other, as they have been doing with Leo. They both had gotten their Veterinarian degrees through UC Davis, and started their practice over 20 years ago. They're really reputable Vets... I just think they're both truly...

    Truly Reaching Out For Help...

So it seems as though Leo is taking a turn for the worse. It's getting harder and harder to get any food into him, he has an increase in the regurgitation/swallowing symptom, more and more I'm finding froth at his mouth, and his energy level is dropping. I just don't know what else I'm...
