Is your dragon sleeping too much, not eating enough? READ ME

It sounds like they are OK as long as food is going in one end and coming out the other. I don't know why they wouldn't sleep much though, mine is pretty consistent about going to bed around 8:30 and sleeping until 6am or so.

If they were bruminating they would be doing just the opposite- sleeping all the time. It sounds like they are just young and active. What are the temps in your habitat? Are they eating well and getting water? Mark

Is your dragon sleeping too much, not eating enough? READ ME

Supposedly they do not brumate until maturity, but it entirely depends on your BD. Mine was 7 months old and and pretty much slept from October to March, very much in time with the seasons. Others wait until they are adults. Some (as I understand it) don't do it at all. Bottom line is to...

Is your dragon sleeping too much, not eating enough? READ ME

Much of what I read says it is important to wake them up and give them a bath every few days so that they don't dehydrate. In the wild this takes care of itself, but most cages do not have a natural moisture source under his/her vent that would facilitate hydration.

Dubia roaches with only 1 Beardie?

Honda, I sent you a PM - I would be very interested in trading for some other feeders.

    Beardie pellets for dubias?

Had exactly the same problem, came up with the same solution. Don't even waste time grinding them up, the roaches will eat them just as they are. I just sprinked them into the roach cage, they were gone the next day.

Dubia roaches with only 1 Beardie?

So is growing pot, but that doesn't seem to stop a lot of people in the north of the state (spoken as a native Californian).

Dubia roaches with only 1 Beardie?

It's OK. I am hoping my 9 year old (who's BD it is in theory though I do all of the work) will get interested in making some money and want to start shipping some adult Dubias to those in need. You would think the cash incentive would work - and it's more profitable than a lemonade stand...

Dubia roaches with only 1 Beardie?

All good questions, the Dubias (in my opinion) are much better than the crickets, for the small (or lack thereof) if nothing else. They are pretty easy, just some food, water crystals, and some egg crates. Very simple, and no more having to order a staple food through the mail. I initially...

    Hornworms and bell pepper leaves?

OK, so I know that hornworms who have eaten tomato leaves are toxic for reptiles, but what about bell pepper leaves? I have searched the internet and it seems that a few people think the same applies to bell pepper plants, but many people think it is just tomato and tobacco leaves...

    Roach Heating...Another thread

I know this is not a common thought, but honestly I just went through winter with my Dubias and they did just fine with enclosure temps in the high 40s/low 50s. They live outside in a 10-gal glass aquarium with egg crates and such. I do have a stick-on heater on the bottom and when the temps...

    Several Questions...

I don't know much about the Phoenix worms, though I think it makes sense that they would go great with horse manure. I have ordered them a couple of times but stopped because they are so small and one beardie can eat a whole can in a single sitting. I do know a little about crickets, enough...

    buying b. dubias

I have bought from both the RoachGuy and Kyle and can endorse either. Kyle does give that personal touch and is easy to work with. After about 8 months my colony is fully self-sustaining (they bred while my BD slept all winter), so I don't see any reason to go back to crickets. Ever. On...

And just like that, Felix is back in action! Eating like crazy and acting just like before his 4 month nap. So all is well. The only downside is that he woke up right before a 5 day trip - anyone know any good dragon baby-sitters in Alabama?

Felix hasn't done much of that - she seems content to sit and watch the world go by. That might change as she finishes growing and has extra energy for other stuff.
