Getting a young beardie to eat in my presence.

I've got a 6 month old beardie I've had for 2 weeks now. And thankfully over the past few days he's gained his appetite back for live food. (Until then he just ate greens and never touched his live food). Now he seems to love his giant mealworms but not greens. Anyway I'd like to be able to...

Seems to be getting less tame.

He'd just jump out my hands and run away if I didn't hold him. Should I let him?

Seems to be getting less tame.

Seems my beardie is getting less tame the longer I own him not more. When I first got him he would sit still when I picked him up and only wiggle a little. Now it's 2 weeks later and he's wiggling and scratching so hard my hands are getting cut up. What should I be doing? Leaving him alone...

    Mouth opening

Yeah it's probably been about 30 min. He also goes around licking everything.

    Mouth opening

Right now my bearded is out on the floor with his mouth held half open. He's not cooling off and he's not doing it to threaten anything. Is this normal?

    New guy

Got my Temp gun today. I read his basking rock at 95F. His Log at 90F and the cool side at 80-85F This is a bit low for basking temps right? Although, I have noticed that he much prefers to bask on the log and not the rock, even though the rock is warmer. Does that mean he thinks that 95F is...

How long after relocation before eating?

I've had my beardie 4 days now, he's 6 months old and he's barely eating anything. I give him a bowl of mealworms and collard greens in the morning but he doesn't really touch them and they're left in all day. I've tried hand feeding him greens but he just opens his mouth, has a rethink then...

    Serious problems controlling humidity.

I've been told I shouldn't keep a water bowl in my viv because it will raise humidity. However the humidity in my viv goes down as low as 10%! Should I leave one in? Then at night the opposite problem, without the heat on the humidity goes up to 55-60%. I turn the heat off because the tank...

Where to buy Mustard, Collard and Turnip greens in the UK?

So callard greens are Spring greens? That clears that up. I've asked people in Tescos and Morrisons for Collard Greems, Mustard Greens and Turnip Greens and no one has any idea what I'm talking about. A guy in Morrisons took me to "Choy sum" after I said that Mustard Greens are also called...

    New guy

Replaced the sand with some bathroom vinyl tile. Will he get used to walking on it? He's slipping a lot at the moment.

    New guy

This might be an issue. I noticed in the morning that without heat the humidity in the tank rises to around 55-60%. Anything I can do to prevent this? I've already taken the bowl out

    New guy

Well both nights I've turned the UVB light off he's been straight down to bed in minutes and I don't hear a peep till I turn them back on in the morning. So I'm glad he's getting used to having the lights off quickly.

    New guy

I've made him a house he can go into from cardboard and he seems to like sleeping in that. He didn't have anywhere to sleep and his heat lamp was left on all night so I am not sure how he got any sleep when the previous guy had him.

    New guy

Here's a question, you turn off ALL the lights at night right? The previous owner was only turning off the UV light but not the heat lamp, which throws off a large amount of visible light too. Wouldn't this make it hard for him to sleep? I turned off all the lights last night and checked the...

    New guy

Any easy way to catch them? They're too fast for me to get the tongs on them. EDIT: Never mind. Got a glass over them and did the old paper slide trick  I gave him 5 and there was only 2 left in the tank so he must have eaten 3 today
