How long after relocation before eating?

I've had my beardie 4 days now, he's 6 months old and he's barely eating anything.

I give him a bowl of mealworms and collard greens in the morning but he doesn't really touch them and they're left in all day.

I've tried hand feeding him greens but he just opens his mouth, has a rethink then closes it again. On the few times he has actually eaten, which is only 1 worm or bit of green at a time, he will move up gingerly to the bowl constantly watching me as if he's stealing my food or something. When I look at him he freezes in place and watches me.

I put crickets in with him one day. Which he ate 1 of. He ate is really lazily though, just waited for it to come to him. He's not acting like the fast hunter I've seen videos of on youtube, where beardies will run over in excitement of getting food.

aww thats so sad :( I don't know why your beardies not eating, maybe he is depressed?

I just got a baby dragon. he arrived two days ago and was 28 days old. he chowed down on 2 crickets after about 2 hours of checking out his new digs. He is eating his greens in his dish as well, but he's really mostly wanting those crickets lol. So I can say that, a baby after being transported in a car in a container for over an hour and then put under his UV light was eating after two hours.

This is what i would do. I wouldn't stare at him while he's going to eat (if you think he's thinking that he's stealing your food, he's probably thinking that lol) And are you playing music for him? You should be talking all soothingly like to him and constantly telling him how welcome he is. Did you put pretty little flowers and plants around for him to look at? they get in better moods when there are a lot of bright colors for them to gaze upon.

So, those are my suggestions.. Or maybe he's gone into his brooding stage or whatever they call it. that could be it as well :)

Ok hope that was helpful =)

lol. i just realized your baby is 6 months. they probably dont do that brooding thing yet at this point, but you should read up on that ( i know im going to ) lol

Hi there, your baby probably has relocation stress. It could take up to two weeks to get use to this new home. As for salad babies don't really it salad all that much, but keep offering it Evey day. You need to get rid of the meal worms as they can cause impaction and they have no nutritional value. Good feeders are crickets, dubia roaches, repti worms, horn worms and Phoenix worms. Good luck

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
