    Viv pics only thread

@ beardie osk The ledges are made of polystyrene, grout, etc. using the instructions on making a fake rock wall from this site. If I had to do it over, I would have designed the thing differently. I was so focused on stability rather than the fact that I'd have to grout and seal the whole...

    Viv pics only thread

Meant to post these months ago or whenever it was that we finished, but I've been way busy. Anyway, here's Smaug's viv: Took the curtains off for this one: The wall looks a little less shiny in real life And, just for fun, Smaug playing hide and seek:

@ maddevil Love the viv! It prompted me to make a child-like giggle of glee. It has kind of a Dr. Suess feel to it. Very original! Kat

    Supplements

I use ReptoCal & ReptoLife plus. Haven't had any problems with them, but once the ReptoCal is gone I plan to switch brands as it does have a very small amount of phosphorus and I know he's already getting that in his normal diet.

Are those live plants? That's awesome! I considered doing something like that but I don't exactly have a green thumb. It didn't even occur to me to use a plant that doesn't require dirt. Genius! Love the wood as well, btw. Kat

OMG! Where did you get those lizard handles? It's uncanny, that's exactly what I've been looking for. We're currently using suction cups as handles. Not very pretty but they are removable when I want to clean the glass. I love this thread. So many beautiful, inspiring vivs! Thank you to...

Where'd you get your beardies name?

My partner and I knew what to name our beardie right away, I'm not even sure whether he said it or I did, "Smaug". Of course, we've since come to find out that we're clearly not the only B.D. owners who are Tolkien fans, there's a few other dragons out there who share the namesake! Which just...

My superworm breeding kit Pic Heavy!

Wow, that's a really nice, efficient looking setup. I just started a dubia colony, so I don't think I'll be breeding supers any time soon but if I ever do, you can bet I'll be copying you! :)

@ Prisma Wow! Thanks for that link, that's awesome. I can definitely rig up something similar with the stuff I have around. Sweet! :D Thanks, Kat

Any people happy they made the switch to roaches.

I'm nearing the end of the research phase of what I'm calling The Roach Project. I can't wait to be done with crickets. I've always had a bit of a fascination with insects so it was a big surprise to me when I realized I had come to loathe crickets. They're noisy, they stink and they're...

Thanks! I think that last pic is a little deceptive as to his size. He's about 10 or 11 months old and a hairs-breath under 18". He sure did grow rapidly when we got him. Don't know if that's just how they always are or if it had to do with the change in care from the petstore, but for...

Hello all! I've been benefiting from this site for some time now, and finally decided to join up! This is such an informative site (and all for BD owners, woo hoo!) that I'd really like to thank everyone that contributes. You guys rock! I first got interested in Bearded Dragons when I'd been...
