I need a vet recommendation for central California.

I live in valley but can travel to Bay Area. Although I love our vet for basic care im worried we are dealing with an aneurysm and I want a vet that is experienced in case we decide to do surgery. Our bd is almost 12 so im not sure if we will go that route but I want someone really qualified...

Kratos And Xerxes(even if he is a she)

I really need to update this post with pics. Its been so long since I've been on here. I've come on to check how Dino is doing but haven't made anytime to reply. Just wanted to give a quick update on the boys. Xerxes has finally recovered from his tummy infection and is eating normal again. It...

Dino's YF... Rest Easy my Lil' Friend :'(

Hurray for no meds for a week, well in three days that is. How does Dino do when you take her out for cuddle time? Im sure she is having good days and bad days, Xerxes is the same way. He perks up when he's out for cuddle time but just lays flat in his viv or in the outside cage. You...

low calcium levels and chronic diarrhea

Just a fast update before I head out for errands and then the vet. I have been able to get a little more food in him and he is definitely feeling a little better but he is far from being himself. Tracie I'm really confused because I could have swore she said that Xerxes was at a 12 but that...

low calcium levels and chronic diarrhea

Your right if i get it in there he will eat it, but with his MBD I have to be very careful opening his mouth and he holds his jaw clamped as tight as possible. I've been shown by a vet how to force their jaw open but I can't seem to do it that way :banghead: . I guess I'll have my vet show me...

low calcium levels and chronic diarrhea

I'll have to get a copy on Friday of Xerxes blood work and post it but the vet said that Xerxes is on the lower end of the normal range of his calcium levels. His levels were at a 12 I think she said the range was 7-50. I've been giving him the liquid calcium 5 days a week since I took him in...

Frozen (not freeze-dried) roaches as a staple?

Is it legal to ship frozen Dubias to Florida then? I really don't see any issues with them being frozen other than loss of nutrients and getting your dragon to eat them. If your dragon would eat them I don't see why you shouldn't feed them. I guess you need to find out if they are being gut...

I manage yo get 6ml down him the WHOLE freaking day. I do give him extra oral fluids and I'm trying to bath him for 20 min every day but...

Dino's YF... Rest Easy my Lil' Friend :'(

Lol those pics are priceless, if looks could kill haha! Poor little Dino you can tell she's not feeling her best. I think spitfyre is right she does look a little woozy. I'm glad you got the meds worked out. Hum so what to do about her face...have you tried a credit card in the very front of her...

Frozen (not freeze-dried) roaches as a staple?

I dont know, it may be ok. I prefer to feed live prey and I don't think my dragons would touch hem if they aren't moving. I know freezing does cause a loss of nutrients so keep that in mind and make up for it in supplements. Is there a reason you don't want to feed live roaches?

Kratos And Xerxes(even if he is a she)

I took Xerxes into the vet yesterday because he just hasn't been himself. I asked her to do blood work and look at the area that had just finished shedding because it just doesn't look right to me. Anyhow she said that his kidneys are rather enlarged  and she didn't remember feeling them...
